Commander Yurak
About Yurak
Commander Yurak was a fleet commander like me for a long time and served
King Zarkon for many years. Unfortunately for him, he had two big things
working against him in his career. #1 was Voltron. Yurak got great
performance reviews from Zarkon until Voltron came along and started slicing
through his ships and robeasts like Lotor's sword through an insolent slave.
Needless to say, that didn't make King Zarkon too happy. #2 was Haggar.
Yurak and Haggar were, to say the least, not fond of one another. Buy
Haggar a drink sometime and ask her to tell you what she thought of Yurak.
I guarantee you the rant will be memorable.
Anyway, Yurak's career came to a blazing end when he met the sharp side of Voltron's blazing sword after being changed into a robeast. You almost have to feel sorry for the guy, because not only did he die a pretty ugly death, but he wasn't smart enough to avoid it. Originally Zarkon did not intend to have him killed. Zarkon's a pretty nice guy for a tyrannical overlord. If he likes you, or feels you've served him loyally, he won't try to kill you. He'll just banish you off the planet, which is what he did to Yurak initially. But Yurak was in such denial about losing his job and facing the intergalactic unemployment office lines that he begged for another chance, which Prince Lotor gave him in the offer to become a robeast, take on Voltron, and redeem himself back into Zarkon's good graces. He took this offer.
What a dumbass. Voltron had him sliced and diced faster than you could say, "good night Yurak."
