8. Season One, Episode Eight - "The Stolen Lion"

Doom Log File Title: "The Prince Decoy"

Summary: We send a robeast in disguise called Prince Bokar to Arus to infiltrate the Castle of Lions by saving Princess Allura from a crash in the blue lion. (Why save her, I ask? It's not like Lotor was around and lusting over her back then, and if she'd bought it then Arus wouldn't have had a ruler and would've fallen quickly.) (Another of Haggar’s “brilliant” ideas…) Anyway one of the Voltron Force doesn't buy Bokar's act and exposes him, so he goes to Plan B which is to kidnap her and try to force her to take the blue lion to Doom. Once that falls through and his cover's blown, he turns into a robeast and Voltron slices and dices him.

Notable Doom Highlights: Haggar was really trying to earn brownie points with Zarkon when all this went down, and he seemed pretty impressed at first and even told her he loved how her evil mind works. However that wasn't the sentiment he expressed when Yurak came back with news that her little pet had gotten his ass summarily kicked.  Here is where the recurring trend begins: Haggar starts off strong, but flounders at the end.  She never has a good reason as to why and never seems to learn from it either.  Oh, don’t mind me, I’ll just mortgage a few planets to keep the treasury with a positive balance; you, you go right ahead and make that dirty sock robeast, Haggar.  Sheesh.

Notes: The Bokar robeast wasn't one of our best as far as firepower goes, but he was pretty ingenious in how easily he fooled the princess and her friends with a pretty face, snooty accent, fake title, nice table manners, and a few flashy hand-to-hand dueling skills. A little ass-kissing and showing off, and she all but handed Voltron over to him.  I concur.  If there was a MENSA chapter for robeasts, he would have been in it.
