5. Season One, Episode, Five - "The Princess Joins Up"

Doom Log File Title: "New Castle of Lions" (Cossack's Note: I checked the change tracking and apparently the first version of this was saved with the title, "Where The Fuck Did That Castle Come From?" Think Yurak might've been a little steamed when he first logged it?) The Arusian castle has an annoying habit of doing things like that; towards the end of this log something annoyingly similar happens to me, ME. My sentiments mirrored Yurak’s, with my “Where the Fuck Did that Spaceship Come From?”
Summary: Furious at the reappearance of Voltron, Zarkon sends Yurak and Haggar back to Arus to get rid of him and to bring back Princess Allura as a slave. I would have made her clean the throne room spotless with a toothbrush while wearing a dunce cap and a sign that says “Hi, I’m a true blond.”
Notable Doom Highlights: This is one of two episodes in which you get to meet Yurak's sidekick, a bald fat Doomite guy with a really annoying voice. Though the GA refers to him as a robot in their material, I don't know too many robots with blue skin, yellow eyes, teeth, and a weight problem, so I don't know what they were smoking when they came up with that. Oh and for the record, I can't stand that guy. When I made the rank of fleet commander, one of the first things I did was have him demoted. This episode also has a nice tour of the slave quarters and a great arena show. I won fifty bucks betting on that match.
Notes: One of the biggest "what the hell?" moments you'll ever see is in this footage. Right after Yurak blasts the brick and mortar Castle of Lions into bits, King Alfor's ghost helps the Voltron Force and company out by giving them the magical ability to pull a brand new one out of their ass, I mean the ground. With the press of a button a magnificent metal fortress rises from the bowels of the planet and stands high through the rubble as if it had always been there, and as an added bonus it's fully powered and can blast away at the ships and the robeast, which Voltron then dispatches of with the added backup. When I first heard about that, I really thought the guys in my unit were trying to put one over on me. It wasn't until I read the report that I stopped thinking it was a bad joke. I don't like Yurak, but I felt bad for him having to report that one to Zarkon. I know I sure as hell wouldn't want to be the one bringing the king that kind of news.
I should have just put Alfor in a coma during our battle in the Valley of Zohar. If I had done that, he would never have become the nuisance he is in death, and victory would have been mine. But, no, I had to go and slice and dice him into tiny pieces of meat. Who would think killing someone would be such a bad decision?
