3. Season One, Episode Three - "A Ghost And Four Keys"
![]()
Doom Log File Title: "The Lions Appear" (Cossack's Note: Personally I'd have called this "The Robots Need Target Practice.")
Summary: The space explorers unearth four of the five robot lions that form Voltron just as Yurak's strike force begins its attack. Pidge goes out to investigate and gets spotted and subsequently shot at, while the other four explorers pop into the lions they have working to bail him out. Unfortunately the robots can't shoot for shit (why doesn’t that surprise me at this point?) and don't kill Pidge (much to Yurak's aggravation if the amount of cursing in the log file is any indication) but they do trigger a rock slide onto him and assume they did him in. It turns out that he lived, though, and escaped through some tunnels conveniently located in the mountain right where he fell that even more conveniently lead right into the basement of the Castle of Lions (this is what made Arus so easy to decimate in the first place; * sigh* memories…). Meanwhile, the lions successfully demolish and drive off Yurak's ground forces and force him to retreat (leading to another page of profanity laced exposition in the original log) and release Haggar's robeast.
Notable Doom Highlights: These clips give you a good idea of how arrogant, proud, and uptight Yurak was. Him slamming his hands down on the console bitching that he doesn't need help is kind of funny considering he's bent about being upstaged by a wrinkled old witch. I can identify with wanting glory in battle, but his rivalry with Haggar didn't do him any favors. It was a laugh hearing her tell him that she was going to teach his robots how to fight though!
Notes: The GA edited some of the more gruesome stuff out of the battle scene on Arus for the news feeds, like their red lion crunching one of our tanks and a couple of our robots.
