The Keystone was a luminous green crystal carved in Old Thunderian writing. Although it was a piece of the Treasure of Thundera, it was found within the dangerous terrain of the Crystal Cavern upon Third Earth.
The Keystone grants the one who holds it incredible energy and power. However there is a terrible side effect to the Keystone, in that the power it grants becomes addictive and those who cannot break free of its hold begin to crave and eventually cannot function without its power. Most recently, Thundercat Tygra fell victim to the effects of the Keystone, and set in motion the events that led to its eventual destruction. Caught up in his addictive lust for its power, he lost it to the Lunatac Alluro, who also fell under the lure of its power. In the ensuing struggle, the Keystone itself was shattered and the pieces of it, pictured above, fell off of a cliff on Third Earth. The pieces were never recovered.
