It's been a long three years since I got any hatemail worth putting up. Granted, there was that year I was away on EQ, and I did get an email here or there complaining about infrequent updates (especially during that year on EQ) but nothing that really qualified as a flame. However, our newest star of the gallery of lamers, Little Nicky, has brought that to an end, and I thank him! I had almost forgotten how much fun these nasty little notes could be.
Laugh heartily as he attempts to come off sounding haughty and indignant while he whines about content he felt he was owed on my page, because he was too lazy to research his movie script himself. Yes, movie script! Little Nicky is an aspiring screenwriter, and he is going to write Thundercats: The Movie! But that's not all! Read on and find out what all the fuss is about!

Dear Cheezey,
Having read a few of the other delinquents' attempts at flames, I like you, laughed until I had to run to the toilet. I would like you to understand a few things before I continue in what I hope you will qualify as I high quality rant. I am a fan of Thundercats, and have been since as far back as I can remember. I have read numerous fan fics, and although many have come close to the quality of the series, none have actually hit the target. This, and my ambition to write a movie which will one day be made, has lead me to attempt, the long awaited real-time Thundercats The Movie. In my months of desperate research I have not managed to find anybody that can tell me of the origins of Willykat, and WillyKat. Having not actually seen the first few episodes, I feel that I am at a loss. I am also trying to find more in-depth biographies, and a detailed descriptions of planet Thundera. I was told that for all my Thundercats needs, I only needed to look at one site, that my months of research have been wasted. I was directed to www.cheezey.org/thundercats, so of course I rushed here, and was solemnly disappointed. Not only did I find myself faced with second rate fan fic, information on characters that was of a low quality compared to many of the other sites, but you even missed character profiles on such important people as the ro-bear Berbils, Queen Willa, and The Snowman On Hook Mountain. Your pathetic attempt at a web site has not only embarrassed your family, your friends, and myself, it has also managed to make us look as foolish as you. We can only weep, and pray that we stop at this resemblance to you, as to look like you too...well, it's a fate worse than death.
Yours respectfully,
Nick Thomas
<<Dear Cheezey, Having read a few of the other delinquents' attempts at flames, I like you,
laughed until I had to run to the toilet.>>
Cheezey sez:
Yes, indeed they are quite amusing. Someone making a fool of him or herself is almost always high quality entertainment.
<<I would like you to understand a few things before I continue in what I hope you will qualify as I high quality rant.>>
Your email was readable and didn't open with profanity, so that already puts it in a different class than the "masterpieces" showcased in the flames section.
<<I am a fan of Thundercats, and have been since as far back as I can remember. I have read numerous fan fics, and although many have come close to the quality of the series, none have actually hit the target.>>
Have you written any yourself? That is what inspired me to write, not finding what I was looking for.
<<This, and my ambition to write a movie which will one day be made, has lead me to attempt, the long awaited real-time Thundercats The Movie.>>
Ah, so all the other fans that either have written or claim to be writing a script that for the next big series/movie now have yet another fan added to their ranks.
<<In my months of desperate research I have not managed to find anybody that can tell me of the origins of Willykat, and WillyKat.>>
That would be because it was never stated in the series canon. There are plenty of fanfics out there that offer beginning stories for the Thunderkittens, however.
<<Having not actually seen the first few episodes, I feel that I am at a loss.>>
If you are serious about writing a script for a movie featuring the Thundercats, it would be wise of you to research your material thoroughly, and by the original source. Not by viewing websites, but by sitting down and actually watching each and every episode, and even reading all of the comics if you feel they are canon material.
<<I am also trying to find more in-depth biographies, and a detailed descriptions of planet Thundera.>>
Again, you could find all of this if you watched the show and paid attention to details. What you don't find doing that was likely not specified in the show. Not all that much was said about Thundera, just bits of lore here and there in the earlier episodes that mentioned the planet, and later in New Thundera episodes.
<<I was told that for all my Thundercats needs, I only needed to look at one site, that my months of research have been wasted.>>
If you were doing months of research, why did you have to look it up on the internet to begin with? Your statements are rather contradictory.
<<I was directed to www.cheezey.org/thundercats, so of course I rushed here, and was solemnly disappointed.>>
I am so sorry to hear that my site did not cater to your every whim, wish, and desire. And here for the entire 5+ years it's been in existence, I thought that it was there to cater to all of my wants, being that I am the sole person who has maintained and funded it.
<<Not only did I find myself faced with second rate fan fic,>>
Wow, I will be sure to share with 50-some fanfic authors who have stories on my site that you feel that they are second rate. Of course, speaking as one, I would like to see a sample of your writing that qualifies you as better enough than all of said authors to pass such a judgment on their work.
<<information on characters that was of a low quality compared to many of the other sites,>>
Please point out where on my site I claimed to have had "The Best and Most Complete Thundercat Biographies You Will Find Anywhere On The Internet."
In fact, had you paid attention, you would have noticed the blurb in my Informational Stuff section that reads:
"Show Information
Well, to be honest there are a lot of sites out there and most of them cover this information in far more detail than I. For a kickass episode guide, I suggest either Mumm-Ra's Pyramid (for the most comprehensive one I've seen) or the Thunder-Gate (for episodes from an evil point of view). I did put together some character bios way back when of the main characters, though, mostly because I'm a fanfic buff and I like to keep my facts straight. I also enjoy reading others takes on the show characters, so I figured I'd share mine with everyone as well."
If you feel cheated because someone else did not provide all the information you were looking for when you could easily have compiled it yourself, you have only yourself to blame, or at the very least, those who referred you to my site.
<<but you even missed character profiles on such important people as the ro-bear Berbils, Queen Willa, and The Snowman On Hook Mountain.>>
Please note in the quoted text from my page above where it says "I did put together some character bios way back when of the main characters." Do the Berbils, Queen Willa, or Snowman count as main characters? Not in my opinion. The main characters are the ones covered- the Thundercats, Mumm-Ra, and the two primary groups of villains.
<<Your pathetic attempt at a web site has not only embarrassed your family, your friends, and myself, it has also managed to make us look as foolish as you.>>
Pathetic because it did not provide what you expected it to, despite the fact that this was not promised anywhere on the page? I think not.
My site has won many awards, including the as of yet to be added* "Best Thundercats Site" and "Awesome Classic", which was voted on by an objective group opened to the entire fandom. If I were to be snide, I would go as far to say that I've won more awards for my "pathetic" site than you will ever see for your alleged movie that you cannot even be bothered to research by watching all the episodes yourself. (Don't give me the argument that you can't get the episodes, either, they are all available for download somewhere. I'd tell you where, but why should I do your research for you?)
<<We can only weep, and pray that we stop at this resemblance to you, as to look like you too...well, it's a fate worse than death.>>
"We?" So you believe you can speak for my friends and family? That's funny, because I have quite a different take on my site from them, and unlike you, I can name actual names of people who have given me praise. I suspect the "we" you refer to is more along the lines of the voices in your head.
As for looking foolish, I don't think you have to worry too much about resembling me. It's clear who the fool here is, and it's not the one I see when I look in the mirror.
Have a nice day, and maybe someday when your Thundercats movie makes it big, I'll be able to say, "That's the guy who flamed me. Boy, he really showed me, golly gosh darn it!"

*These awards were indeed added to the awards page, but not at the time this email was sent to him.

If you have some commentary you'd like to make on this lamer, stop on by the Black Pyramid and leave a post about it!
Take me back to Flames, Rants, and Hatemail, so I can laugh at the idiots of the Thundercat fandom past.
