Several days has passed since the funeral. Brainchild, with his father's Dragon Ball tracker in hand, went on a relentless search through New Thundera for the magic orbs. While flying through the air, he runs into Mumm-Ruzzo, the Ever-Heroic. "Mumm-Ruzzo?" Brainchild wondered. "What is it that you want now?" Brainchild took a defensive position.

"There is no need to be hostile from me anymore." Mumm-Ruzzo said.  "I no longer serve the Ancient Spirits of Evil. I have turned to new masters and I now permanently serve the forces of good now." Brainchild was skeptical. "Oh? How can I be so sure?" Brainchild asked. Mumm-Ruzzo pointed to his headdress. "Do you see the wings on my helm?" Mumm-Ruzzo said. "These wings on my helm are signs that I serve the Ancient Spirits of Goodness. I also know of your quest for the Dragon Balls. If you wish, I would like to help you."

Brainchild was unsure about Mumm-Ruzzo's proposition. "I cannot ask you to you forgive me," Mumm-Ruzzo said, "but I would like to help if you let me." Brainchild was still skeptical. "To show good faith, I would like to give you a peace offering." Mumm-Ruzzo said as he brought out a piece of jewelry. "What is that?" Brainchild asked.  "It is the Mind Gem." Mumm-Ruzzo said. "With this gem, your thoughts can be brought into action. It does have limitations. It cannot bring the dead to life, and it cannot directly kill anyone."  Brainchild was a bit curious. "It's hard for me to think that you want forgiveness, but I see that you're willing to try." Brainchild said. "So, I accept your offering."

Mumm-Ruzzo placed the Mind Gem around Brainchild's forehead. "With this stone, your mind is now a weapon." Mumm-Ruzzo said. "Use it wisely, and it will serve you well." Brainchild & Mumm-Ruzzo joined forces and began their search for the Dragon Balls throughout New Thundera.

Meanwhile, back on Cat's Lair, it's Christmas time. Although it was a time to celebrate, not everyone was in a celebrating mood. "These are for you." Hystalin said to her daughters as she gave them each a small present. They each said thank you and proceeded opening their presents. "They're all gold necklaces with a single gemstone." Hystalin said. "Each gemstone represents your birthstone. Nocti, you got a citrine stone. Hypnos got an amethyst. Waterturkey & Acrapha gets a ruby. Orintha gets a peridot, and Arakni gets blue topaz.  Enjoy your gifts."

"Mom, have you seen Aunt Ailura?" Waterturkey said. "She's in her room Waterturkey." Hystalin said. "She needs her privacy. She has had a bad week." "Mom, I've talked to Aunt Krysa, and we decided to go to Angelus for a few days." Nocti said. "Aunt Krysa said to me that a cure for your ailment might be found there." Hystalin was awestruck. "If you and your aunt can do something about me tail," Hystalin said, "I have no objections. Good luck my daughter."

Krysa & Nocti left the Cat's Lair and prepared the Cosmic Teleport.  After a few minutes of preparation, both Nocti & Krysa were consumed in light. Nocti & Krysa sped through the cosmos to the destination of New Angelus.
