Dark Secrets

Epilogue

A single hand clamped over the edge of the dark rock. Dark black nails glistened in the faint light. Cesira pulled herself up and over the ledge. She felt exhausted. WilyKat had been more than she’d reckoned for. He had whipped her pretty good. But it wasn’t just that.

She felt a strange force inside her. As if her good and evil halves were colliding. As if her evil half wasn’t in check. It wasn’t. But with a clattering sound, the gem she had in her forehead fell and rattled to the floor. And this freed her true nature. Having seen the evil she’d done, her evil had receded into that single gem. And now she was free.

Her dark nails turned from black to the color that had been when she was younger. Bright redrays sprang from her fingertips. Her dark eyes turned from black into her natural puppy-dog brown. The brillant rays of blond sprung from her black tresses. She remembered now. Celeano had put her under a spell when she was younger. When she died, Cesira might have been freed of it had she not put that awful gem on.

Now she cringed on the ground, a frightened child.

A fierce wind whirled about her and she dug her nails into the earth. She saw then. They weren’t nails. They were claws. She suddenly remembered. Her mother had wanted to wipe out innocence. But she also wanted to get the Thundercats or any Thunderian. She considered herself cursed because of her heritage. When Darkstar her grandmother had raped her husband, she had done it reluctantly because she didn’t want her daughter to have a sense of justice. Celeano hadn’t. But Celeano’s daughter, her granddaughter, Cesira did.

            She was one-third-Thunderian.

So Celeano cast a spell on her. When the kittens finished Celeano off, the spell had fallen making her feel for her mother. But when she put the gem on, the spell was rereleashed as the diamond enhanced her evil side, making it conquer her good side.

Cesira slowly made her way to her feet but suddenly the ground split open. Celeano rose in front of her. Cesira sank back to her knees. The evil sorceress’ spirit knelt and scooped up her diamond. She stepped closer to Cesira. Then she flung the gem.

A hideous scream left Cesira’s mouth as she felt the evil energy reinvade her. Her good will was fighting but being crushed. She felt her evil side strengthen. Then suddenly she wasn’t afraid anymore. She glared at Celeano.

“I told you that you’d need me.” Celeano sneered. “You failed little one.”

“Not yet!” she snapped. Her evil side once more in control, she swung her arms. A fierce blast attacked Celeano’s spirit. But Celeano was shocked when the pain began to literally kill her immortal soul. She stared at her hands as they faded away.

Cesira laughed and lifted her hand to heaven. Darkstar! Unlock my blessed blood!”

            A huge flash embraced her.

When it faded, her dress trailed to her ankles and and was covered with black glitter. Her thin hair had returned to black and now was in two braids which intertwined with one another. She had on high heels of black. But she was now seventeen. And the red immortal glow had surrounded her. She laughed again.

“Foolish Thundercats. It takes a goddess to defeat a goddess. Face me as I really am: Cesira, the Goddess of Evil”

The End?
