Part 4

Red ruby eyes stared as the cauldron show the ending scene of his daughter, lying unconscious, being taken away in the thunder tank. An idea began to form as the pieces gather together. "My daughter had done a fine job. Now it is…" Slythe interrupt him, "ssssGreat jjjob? SSSShe ssssaved Liono's liveee! And without him and that damn sword, the thundercatss will be ffinnissshed!" "Really, Mummra," Jackalman added in "your daughter had done a fine job" his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I bet the next thing she will do is to make friends with those miserable thundercats!" "Ah, that's exactly what I wanted her to do," the ruby eyes became intense," she will gain their trust and attack them when they least expected!"

The throbbing began to fade as Glenvia regain conscious. Her head hurt a little as she struggled to get up and open her eyes. "Great! Where am I?" her eyes wavered around the unfamiliar surroundings, blinking curiously. Then she remembered what happen. She had over exerted herself while rescuing the guy who could not teleport. As she try to recall back the scene, her father appears before her. "So, how's daddy's little girl?" Mummra may be evil but that does not mean he is not a good parent. (He had brought up Glenvia and taught her the things she needed to know, except evil. You may be wondering why and it is because he does not wish to see Glenvia under the clutches of the spirits of evil, despite the fact that she is not his own flesh and blood. When u get rid of thorns in your eyes, u had to be evil. But that does not apply to being a parent, in mummra's point of view. And this proves that he, Mummra, is a perfectly ordinary human…eh, I mean mummy, having both good and evil ways) Glenvia snorted. "I am a lady now dad, and I do not need you bothering me like what a bothersome parent does over a kid." Bothersome… Mummra felt started for a while, then he could only sign at this word. So, it's finally coming. Glenvia had started to find him bothersome.

He had been dreading for this day to come. He had always see snarf fussing over Liono in his cauldron and how frustrated Liono felt. Bothersome is what Liono thinks of snarf and bothersome is what Glenvia is thinking of him …"sorry dad," Glenvia saw his sad face," I am just joking…" noting the unsure in her father's eyes,"honest " Mummra managed a smile for his daughter's sake. "Apology accepted." Glenvia is all smiles now." Then let's go home, I don't want to waste my breath and time here." She started to get out of bed when Mummra realised what's he's here for. "eh…Glenvia, u wouldn't mind staying here wouldn't you?" "why? Too many bugs back at the pyramid?" she was referring to the spirits. "No," giving her a knowing look before he launched in to the whole story of the thundercats arriving on Third Earth and how he decided to join forces with the mutants to conquer them. "So, my daughter, how does that sound to you?" "It sounds like u are jealous that those thundercats will steal your `throne' from you." Glenvia Signed at the thought. "c`mon' dad, you r fussing over nothing." Fussing, Mummra thought, now she thinks I am fussy. The symptoms are all coming. Glenvia continued, unaware of what's reeling at the back her father's head. "You have been around since first earth and this throne had always been yours. But on the other hand you should protect your place." Mummra decided to put all `unfilial' thoughts away for the moment to continue this dispiriting conversation. "So, r u willing to help this dad of yours?" Glenvia smile. "I am daddy's little girl after all, besides, it sounds like fun." " It may be dangerous. That sword of omens could detect any danger or evil and this thundercat, Cheetara have sixth sense and telepathy powers. Yes I forgot to tell you, Liono could contact with being of the underworld who could have know our intentions clearly, Jaga" Jaga… Glenvia felt an impact hit her as she hears this name. It felt like a … a memory. Her mind clutch on to a thought as she seem to hear herself screaming as a child, `Jaga, don’t' send me away…please…' "Glenvia, are you listening? Glen," Mummra's voice intrudes her thoughts as she snaps back to reality. "I…I'm all right dad. Really. Just…" "Daydreaming?" Mummra sign "this makes me wonder if you are passing everything at school." "Dad! How can you say that? I did not score top honors for nothing. And I am graduating next term. I came to bring u the news and to find out if you r going to attend my graduation ceremony."

"Of course I could attend." "I am afraid you are getting too old and weak to attend it." Old…now I am really in for it, Mummra thought. And she even thinks that I am weak too. But Mummra controls his emotions and pretends to carry on casually. He is not going to let his daughter think that her words affect him. "Anyway, if any of them discover your identity, teleport back to the pyramid immediately. I will… " "Enough dad, I did not go to school for nothing. I know how to protect myself and the more you yak, the more nervous I get." Mummra decide its time to leave. "Okay, it's almost dawn now. The thundercats will be awakening soon. We will communicate by telepathy and…" "And dad, must I push you down the window to make you leave?" Taking one last look at his daughter, Mummra teleported out, his mind reflecting endlessly on what Glenvia said about him.

Finally, Glenvia thought as she stretch her arms, peace at last. She had not regained her complete strength yet but the good sleep she had is good enough. She had not planned to meet any of the thundercats yet as she settle herself right in bed. `Jaga…' the name echoed through her brain as her mind explores round this memory. The first and only memory that she had about her long, forgotten past.

A hunched and disappointed figure stepped back to his pyramid. For once in his everliving-life, Mummra feels neglected. No one had he cared for more about than his adopted daughter whom warms his heart. The very thought of him being bothersome, fussy, old and weak is both devastating and sad. Bothersome, fussy, old and weak, it sounds like some aged soon-to-be neglected father and he is one. Ever since the earth starts to rotate, he was situated there in the pyramid, destined by the evil spirits to maintain the struggle of good and evil on an equal level. Mummra signed inwardly. Thinking about how he had decided to choose the path of evil after graduating from magic school. He was jobless at that time as many have chosen the path of good. Nature had its way of maintaining good equal to evil. Since no one wants this job and he does not have a job, he had considered himself kind enough to take up evil. And now he was here.

His unknown parents had left him at the magic school when he was just barely six months old. The only company he had in his entire school life is his friends. Now, as a hideous mummy, Glenvia and Ma-mutt are all he got.

All this years with Glenvia at school, Ma-mutt had been his only company, excluding the mutants that have been lousy company. Glenvia is back now but Mummra could not enjoy any of her company, but fearing her opinions about him. As if it could read it's master's mind, Ma-mutt went up to Mummra with consoling eyes. Eyes that the thundercats and the mutants or even Glenvia would never have seen in a dog. Those eyes that are only shown when tears of loneliness crept out of the huge red, ruby eyes.

" Snarf, snarf. Breakfast will be ready in ten minutes! " Snarf's voice rang loud. He had whipped a special meal to honour Liono's safe return. The lord of the Thundercats had escaped with just a badly sprained neck. A little medication and he will be fine. As the Thundercats were about to start breakfast, Liono ordered Cheetara to invite the girl whom had saved him for breakfast. The others had been curious about how he fell down the bottomless chaste but he had fell asleep after applying his medication. Giving the excuse that he was dead tired. He hoped the girl could explain everything to the rest, as he does not know what to say. The girl who save him is the girl who pushed him down, what else? And if he said anything that provokes her, he would have a spitfire to deal with. The best is to keep mute.

Glenvia pretend to concentrate on her soup as she felt six pairs of eyes on her. After the thundercats introduce themselves, she had told them her name and she was a student from magic school that was practising magic on third earth for her incoming examinations. That was all she had to say and she sat down to devour her meal. They were pressing her silently for details about yesterday and their lord, Liono, was keeping mute about the whole thing. Out of the corners of her eyes, she spied the young lord who was sipping his soup as well and caught him looking at her. He must be trying to protect his ego, afraid to let them know that a girl pushed him down instead of some big ugly monster. Glenvia thought. Fine, two can play this game. Silence continued to roam at the table.

This was not going the way he had planned, Liono thought as he continues with his soup. Not only the girl, Glenvia, was not spilling the beans but she was keeping mute as well. The situation was becoming tense and Liono know that the rest of the thundercats will open their mouth to ask anytime. He had caught her spying him and he knew they were both playing the same game. Great minds think alike, he thought sarcastically. If this is what she wants, then it will be what she will get. The tension increases as quietness lags on.

Snarf saw the look exchanged by the two `mutes'. He wonder what game those two were playing. The guest, Glenvia, had a striking appearance. She had shoulder length black ivory hair and wide almond-shaped eyes, the darkest he had ever seen. She looks strangely familiar, as he seems to recall having seen the same eyes somewhere. He continued to stare at her, fascinated, as he bit his bread.

Suppressing a smile, Cheetara noticed that everyone was taken in by the guest, almost everyone. Liono had refused to even glance at the guest at first but she had noticed that the young lord had sneaked a look. Panthro and Tygra seemed nervous as they take their eyes off and on her. The kittens wore both curiosity and interest as they eyed their guest. Cheetara could not blame any of them. Together with her striking appearance, Glenvia had both elegance and grace. She had the most attractive eyes that lit mischievously as if she is playing a game. Her silence did not degrade her but reflect her as exotic. All of them had knew that she was involve in yesterday's action, before they arrived but none had the facts straight. Plus her sorcery skills had made her more mysterious than ever. These characteristics of hers had captivate Cheetara as well but it was Snarf's reaction that had taken Cheetara off guard. Yes, she conclude that the snarf will be intrigued but she did not expect him to stare at Glenvia with both of its eyes attached to her, his round eyes blinking idiotically. Adding to this comical appearance was to eat without knowing what he's eating. The snarf had peeled off part of the bread, obviously to dip it in the soup before consuming. But due to unattentiveness, the bread had end up in the saucer of chilli sauce instead and right into the old wet nurse' s mouth. Cheetara had to keep her face straight when she saw the snarf's reaction.

The usual wisdom on his face was now gone. His composure had vanished. The name of the guest echoed in his mind. He stared deep into her dark eyes. The very same eyes he knew when she was just barely a child. The child that had pricked his conscience once and is going to prick his conscience again. He stared at the grown-up guest; he had never wanted to see her again. He had shut her out of the thundercats once, now, it is the time to do it again.
