Volume I
Alluro
by Lucifer Daimaou
“Concentrate, Alluro!Focus on the crystal!”ordered Bronze, profecional tutor in the Arts of the Mind on the Fourth Moon of Plundarr. His chief student at the moment was Alluro, a street kid who had shown promise in the field of hypnosis.Alluro had hurled the crystal ball from his rented psyche club, and was attempting to keep it in the air.
“But Maestro,”Alluro complained, “The crystal is not meant to stay in midair like that, it only works when it has locked on to a victim.”The crystal in question suddenly dropped to the ground, and Alluro had to leap to catch it.Looking up, Alluro immidiately noticed the look of scorn on Bronze’s face.
“Alluro, you know nothing of such things,”Bronze scolded, “The crystal can be used for many purposes, not just hypnosis, beautiful an art it may be.The crystal can be used to project false images to fool your opponents, as well as many other things, but it can only do that if you maintain the crystal in midair, and you should be able to do that for an infinite amount of time, my pupil.”Alluro reattached the crystal to the club.
“It would be easier if I had my own psyche club,” Alluro pointed out, “So that I might bond with it and grow stronger with it.”
“You are not ready for that, Alluro,”Bronze said, “Not yet.At the end of this year, you will enter a tournament. That tournament draws students who are being trained to use psyche clubs in a variety of ways from all the moons, even the Third Moon, where the royalty occasionaly turns up a few psychic nobles. If you win this tournament, you will gain a powerful psyche club, the most powerful psyche club ever built by lunatac crafts; but in order to gain that power you must first become powerful yourself, only in this way will you be worthy to wield it.”Alluro’s face brightened at that.
“Hah!I’ll beat them all easily! My power far surpasses any other student’s”Alluro said arrogantly.
“You confidence is good for a hypnosis battle,”Bronze said, “But underestimating an enemy is foolish, no matter how weak they may appear.”Alluro snorted.“You need to be as strong as possible. Now, keep that crystal in the air for twenty minutes, and then you will be free to go for today.Tommorrow, we learn projecting images.”
Alluro walked calmly down the streets of Friedrichville. He had no real place to call home, the closest thing to a home for him was a room in the back of Lyla’s Bar.He was allowed to sleep there as long as he agreed to work there as well. The owner was an ice-race Lunatac that was the closest thing to a mother that he had.As he walked in, he was greeted by Lyla and her friend, Neon.Neon was a hybrid of a sight-race lunatac and a gravity-race lunatac, and was quite a force to meddle with.Hovering above Neon was an unfortunate hunter-race lunatac who had been frozen solid.“You know, it’s generaly thought of as bad for business to freeze your customers.”Alluro said, smiling.
“Yeah, well, tell them to keep their filthy hands off of me, hssss!”Lyla said, breathing out a puff of condensed air.
“Sit down, Alluro, tell us how your class went,”Neon said, “You were there for quite some time.”Alluro groaned.
“Bronze made me keep the blasted crystal in midair for a full twenty minutes, you have no idea how tiring that is.”He replied.
“Well, it took me some time to be able to master both of my powers,” Neon pointed out, “And that was no joyride either.”
“Yes, well, I will become stronger than any other lunatac alive,”Alluro boasted, “Once I hone my psychic powers, nothing will stand against me!”
“Yeah? You wanna prove that, kid?”Lyla asked, smiling, “Your training with me is far from complete.”Alluro sighed.
“My training with you will never be over, Lyla,”Alluro said, “We psyhic-race lunatacs hardly ever have any sort of muscular build up.”Lyla had been making sure that Alluro wouldn’t have to rely only on his powers by forcing him into physical training. The result was good enough, he was stronger than most of the boys his age, but he was not super strong by any means.
“Yeah, that’s everyone’s excuse. You just don’t want to admit that both of the women sittin here,”Neon teased, “Could beat you up any day of the week.”Alluro decided to take the time and use hypnosis-without his psyche club.He knew that it would come in handy to strengthen his weaker field of hypnosis, so that with a psyche club he would be that much stronger.
“You cannot defeat me,”Alluro said, “You could never defeat me.”Neon looked dazed for a moment, then shook it off.
“Don’t do that, kid,”She said nervously.
“But you know that I am invincible.Give it up.Lie your head on the table.”Alluro ordered in a calm, soothing voice.Neon shook her head a couple more times.
“That’s it kid, I’m gonna-” Neon swung at Alluro, but stopper herself inches from his face.
“You see?You cannot harm me, I am stronger than you, faster than you.Give it up.Lie your head down on the table.”Alluro said, grinning in delight.
“Can’t hurt you...I’ll just lie down and rest...”Neon sighed, putting her head down.
“Take a nice nap now.”Alluro said, concluding his hold over her.Snorring soon emerged from where Neon lay.Everyone in the bar burst into applause, and Alluro suddenly realized that everyone had been watching his little practice. He turned to Lyla, who was smiling.
“Well, you may not need to fight, Alluro,”She joked, “You sure are good at talking people out of it!”
“Feh, petty parliar tricks!”A voice said from behind them. They turned to see a boy of about Alluro’s age, perhaps a bit older.
“Psiki, I should have known you’d be around.”Alluro growled.
“Unlike you, Alluro, I plan to make something of my life with my talents.I’m entering the tournament at the end of this year, and I plan to take that Psyche club home with me!”Psiki bragged.Alluro walked up to the boy.
“You haven’t got the brains to go anywhere as a psychic, Psiki,”Alluro declared, “Just because your father is a rich and you’ve been nothing but a spoiled brat since birth, you think that you’re going to win?I don’t think so, you couldn’t hypnotize a mutant, much less a psychic.”
“Your babbling never ceases to bore me, Alluro,”Psiki said calmly, “And with the company you keep, I can hardly imagine you could afford class, much less become a psychic.”Some of the people in the bar growled, but Alluro smiled.
“Actualy, I can’t.”He said in a triumphant voice.
“What a pity.”Psiki said sarcasticly.
“No, you misunderstand,” Alluro went on, “I may not be able to afford it, but because of my obvious talents, Lord Bronze himself has offered to train me for practicly nothing.”Psiki turned a bit pale at that, then got angry.
“Lord Bronze is nothing but a hypocrite, and I already knew that, I have a much better instructor than the likes of him!”The spoiled aristocrat snapped.
“Thats enough.”Lyla said, “I will not have people insulting my customers. And in case you didn’t notice, there’s more of us than there is of you.”As she said it, the people at the bar had turned and gotten up, ready to take down the young boy, as well as many of the people at their tables.Psiki suddenly burst into laughter.
“Well then, lets have a go, shall we?”He said.He pulled his psyche club from his side and hurled it at the approaching group.Unfortunately for them, then only other psychic in the room was Alluro.“You cannot defeat me.Give it up, I am invinsible, and there’s nothing any of you pathetic creatures can do about it!”They had all stopped, and were repeating his words quietly.Angered, Alluro snatched the club itself using his greater strength, and snapped it in two.“NO!”Psiki cried. The crystal stopped emanating light, and dropped to the ground, shattering into several tiny peices.
“Get out.”Alluro demanded angrily.
“I’ll get you for this, Alluro!”Psiki shouted, dashing off as fast as his legs could take him. There was a cheer from the bar.Alluro walked back over to the bar.
“I guess there’s more than one way to take care of a problem.”Alluro said, smilling.
“That kid was pretty powerful,”Lyla said, a bit of worry in her voice, “If it’s him you’re up against, you’ll have your work cut out for you.Did you know him from somewhere?”
“Yes, I met him on the streets, several years ago,”Alluro was suddenly solemn at the thought, “I don’t want to talk about it.”Suddenly, they heard a yawn, and looked to see Neon waking up from the hypnosis-induced nap.
“Wow, what a great nap,”She sighed, “So guys, did I miss anything?”
“Now, concentrate on the image you want to project,”Bronze ordered.Veins appeared all over Alluro’s head. The crystal ball floating in midair suddenly dissapeared in a flash of light, and in its place appeared Lyla.
“Hello, Maestro.”‘Lyla’
said, “I wanted to ask if you could give Alluro a perfect score for his
class in every field.”
“Very good, Alluro!Keep
the image there and talking for the next twenty minutes, in fact, talk
to me yourself and with the image.”Bronze
said.
“Psiki came into the bar the other day.”Alluro said, still concentrating on Lyla’s form.
“Did he?”Bronze asked, his eyebrow cocked.“What did he have to say for himself.”
“He insulted Alluro, then tried to hypnotize all of us.”Alluro explained through Lyla.
“And did he succeed?”Bronze asked.
“He probably would have, had I not broken his psyche club.”Alluro said.
“You broke his psyche club? You shouldn’t have done that.”Bronze scolded.
“But he had them all hypnotized!”‘Lyla’ complained.
“You should have been able to command him out of it through hypnosis, especialy if he wasn’t focused on you primarily.”Bronze insisted.
“But, Maestro, he’s too strong.”Alluro complained.
“I know that, but he will be trouble.”Bronze said thoughfully, “He always was, which is why I refused to teach him. However, within that boy lies great power, power which surpasses my own.”
“How is that possible?”A concerned ‘Lyla’ asked.
“You can stop the image now, Alluro, class is over.”Bronze said.‘Lyla’ dissapeared, and the crystal reattached itself to the psyche club Alluro held in his hands.
“I’ll see you tommorrow, Maestro?”Alluro asked.Bronze, however, was stroking his thin beard thoughtfuly.
“Yes, you will...” He said distantly, and after his pupil had left, he added, “And then the real training shall begin.”
Walking down the street, Alluro was suddenly jumped by three gravity-race lunatacs.“You, you caused trouble for master Psiki,”One accused, “We have been sent to destroy you.”They all pointed their gravity carbines at him.Alluro thought quikely. He could not hypnotize all three at once, he would need his psyche club for that, and the only one he had was at Lord Bronze’s.The three cannons fired, and Alluro lept out of the way. This strategy would not work, in leaping, the gravity-race far exceded his capabilities. They launched themselves in different directions, and Alluro was soon surrounded. He wanted to move, but their fist started beating him into the ground.then they all took a small hop backwards and fired at him.Alluro did not see what happened, he only felt a familiar pair of arms life him up, and suddenly felt as though he was flying through the air, right before he lost conciousness completely.
He awoke in his bedroom(literaly, all there was to the room was a bed and a door.)His head felt a bit heavy, but he forced himself to walk to the bar and find out what had happened.
Outside, a very concerned Neon and Lyla awaited him.“Hey, kid, how ya feelin?”Lyla asked.
“As though I was run over by a lunatank.”He muttered.
“You were lucky we found you when we did,” Neon said, “Those gravity-lunatacs were about to hit you with three gravity carbine blasts, and the combined energies would probably have been more than even your body could have handled.”
“Thanks for comming for me,”He sighed, “It seems that Psiki hasn’t changed much.”Lyla passed him a big mug of steaming hot chocolate.
“Tell us about him, how you met him.”Lyla said, “We know so little about your childhood, you could at least do us this favor after we helped you.”Alluro smiled, took a gulp of hot chocolate, and began his tale.
It was only a few years after the death of my parents.Things weren’t exactly happy, I had no place to sleep, I had to steal my food, in fact, the only thing I had going for me was Isa.Isa was a hunter-race lunatac who was about my age.I loved her, we had no secrets between us.We shared our resources, making it easier for us to survive. It was all going great between us until that little weisel Psiki butted in.He had harrassed her when passing, and she had given him a kick in the gut that he will never forget. He crashed into a nearby brick wall, vowed to get his revenge on her, and ran off.
At the time, I thought he was bluffing.I mean, hardly anyone can mess with the hunter-race lunatacs, much less some spoiled little rich kid.I had no idea how wrong I was.
A few weeks later, I couldn’t find her.I looked everywhere, no one had seen her.Well, I finnaly found her.Five sight-race lunatacs were upon her, holding her down, violating her in the name of their beloved leader Psiki. My rage knew no ends.I tapped into a psychic force the likes of which I have never been able to get to again. The five of them were lifted into the air, and smashed into each other.I hurled them into every imaginable solid object, and probably hours before I had put them down, they died.I suddenly lost the power I had been using and they fell.In my rage I had not noticed that gravity-race lunatac in the shadows, he snapped Isa’s neck before I could do anything, then lept off.
“I’m sorry, Alluro, that really sucks,”Neon sighed, “I can’t believe anyone would do such a thing!”
“It’s not over.”Alluro sighed, “There’s more.”
Angered, I searched all over for him, and finnaly got a link to him from an informant.I found his home and climbed over the fence.Foolishly, I charged into the house, where the family sat.I demanded that they all turn themselves in for the murder of Isa, but they laughed at me.The father told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about, and I almost believed him- until I realized he was hypnotizing me.Before I could react, the mother, the father, and Psiki himself had tossed their psyche clubs above me, and I was at their mercy. They got all the information about me that they needed, then they ditched me in an alley, telling me never to return to their home again.
“I’ve wanted to get him back all these years, but he’s too strong, I can’t handle him.”Alluro sighed.
“And that is why I have made a critical decision.”Lord Bronze said from the door, entering suddenly. They all turned to him.
“ ‘Evening, Lord, come take a seat.”Lyla said.
“I’m afraid my time here is brief, Lyla, thank you for the offer.”Lord Bronze explained, “I have come for Alluro.”
“But Maestro, the next class isn’t until later this afternoon.”Alluro pointed out.
“This is different.I have come to ask the permission of those you care about for something very important.”Lord Bronze explained, “You see, it has come to my attention that Psiki has grown quite powerful, so powerful that even I cannot be compared next to him.”People in the bar gasped, the all knew that Lord Bronze was considered among the strongest hypnotist on the Fourth Moon. That anyone, a boy no less, could be stronger than him, the idea just scared them.“I have come to take Alluro away from here, to the Desaparecido mountains, where I will try to tap into his inner power, and heighten his strength so that he can defeat Psiki, as well as all the other contestants in the Grand Tournament of the Mind.I just need the permission of his guardians to do it.”He looked at Neon and Lyla, and then at Alluro.
“He really is yours, Lyla,”Neon said softly, “It’s up to you.”Lyla nodded to her friend, but her expression remained unreadable. She turned to Alluro.
“Is this what
you want, kid?”She asked.Alluro
wasn’t sure.It has always been
my dream to be the universe’s most powerful hypnotist.But...my
life was just starting to become nice again, and most of it is because
of Neon and Lyla...is my dream more important than our friendship?
“How long would we go?”Alluro asked quietly.
“Until the tournament at the end of the year, at which time, you will be free to go.”Lord Bronze explained.
“We’ll be there
at the tournament, no matter what,”Neon
said, “Go follow your dreams.”Alluro
looked at her, then at Lyla, and then at all the faces in the bar.I
have to go he thought, if I don’t, Psiki will continue to plague
the lives of innocents such as these...I guess I really don’t have a choice.
“Let’s go.”He said.
“Excellent. We will see the rest of you at the tournament, I do hope you’ll all be there.”Lord Bronze said, directing Alluro out with him. They left a very pensive silence at the bar.
“Come on, Lyla, the tournament is about to start!”Neon called to her friend from the top of the bleachers.Lyla hissed.
“Easy for you to say, hssss you can just jump up to the top.”She snapped, climbing up the long flight of stairs.A sight-race lunatac tried to pat her inapropriately, but she grabbed his arm, broke his arm on her leg, then froze his throat.Everyone else just backed away from her after that. When she finnaly sat down next to Neon, her friend looked more than amused.
“You could have just slapped him or something, but then I guess you wouldn’t be the Lyla we’ve all come to know and love.”Neon teased. The group behind them laughed.
“I see that all of the crew came,” Lyla said, “Alluro will be happy to see all of you after so long, hssss.”
“Watch it!”A hunter-race lunatac said, trying to avoid the mist that came from Lyla’s mouth. It had been nearly a year, and they were all anxious to see how much Alluro had changed.Finnaly, an announcer lept up to the stage. He was a gravity-race, and a fast talker.
“Ladies and gentlemen,”He began, “Family and friends of the psychics who will become men on this day, I would like to announce the beginning of the Grand Tournament of the Mind!”The crowd cheered, but abruptly stopped to listen.“The Grand Tournament of the Mind has been going on since the beginning of civilization as psychic lunatacs know it.Today, only one of the hundreds of psychics that came in will go out with the right to declare himself the strongest of his generation. However, this year we have a special prize: The Moon Club, the most powerful psyche club in existence.”A giant hologram of a psyche club appeared in the center of the room. “This psyche club was forged by ancient prophets who predicted a young lunatac rising out of his or her childhood to become the greatest psychic ever. The year that it was predicted to happen, as you probably guessed, is this very year, and soon, we shall see just who is the most powerful psychic in the universe.”
From underneath the bleachers, Alluro watched, awed by the sight of the psyche club. His fellow contestants, or his soon to be opponents, were also getting greedy looks in their eyes. However, the hologram soon went off, and the first match was announced.A fight tree appeared on a giant screen, showing all the contestants as well as when and who they would battle.Alluro would be second. He decided to watch and learn how the others fought, to make it easier to defeat them.A thousand thoughts poured through his mind; would he be able to win, would he survive, but most frequently, he wondered if his friends had come.
“This is boring, when’s Alluro gonna come on?”Neon asked.
“He should be next,”Said an male Ice-race, “be patient.”
“How can we be patient?”Lyla complained, “There’s hundreds of them!Alluro isn’t going to be on the entire time, you know, it’s going to be boring, hssss!”
“Why don’t you just watch the match?”The hunter-race from earlier suggested.
“See, you’re attracted to battle, Scrya,”Lyla said, addressing her, “You’re a hunter-race.It’s in your blood.Me, I’m only attracted to battle A-if I’m in it or B-if a friend is in it...cool!I didn’t know that they could do that! Hssss!”Lyla interrupted herself suddenly. One of the contestants had made a false image of himself and then snuck up behind his oppenent and smashed his oppenent’s crystal. That signaled the end of the match.
“The winner...Psiatrick!”shouted the announcer. The crowd began to cheer.“Next up...Alluro vs. Hypnalia!”The Bar crowd cheered and shouted Alluro’s name louder than the rest of the crowd.Alluro walked onto the stage along with his opponent.
“Man, he looks a lot different!” Neon gasped.
“The midget’s got to be twice my height now!”Lyla said, equaly as amazed.
“Yeah, and talk about bad hair day,” Scrya chuckled, “He’s bald on the top, but he’s got longer hair on the sides than I do!”
“Psychics tend to go through almost a metamorphosis once they’ve attained their powers,”explained the gravity-race who had come with them, “mainly in order to adapt to their new powers.”The crowd suddenly went silent, the match had begun.
“You know you don’t stand a chance against me,” Hypnalia said gently, “You might as well give up now, and forget about this entire tournament.”Alluro smiled, made a motion to put down his psyche club, but when his opponent moved forward to grab it from him, he flashed it in her face.
“I think that it is you who will be giving up,”He said, “I am invinsible. You cannot defeat me, you don’t stand a chance.Give it up, you never will amount to anything.”Hypnalia shuddered, as if struggling to maintain control of herself. She closed her eyes, and backed up a bit.
“No!You won’t beat me!I can’t be beaten on my first match!”She snapped, throwing the crystal of her psyche club above Alluro.Alluro ignored it, and threw his at her.“Call back your weapon!”She ordered.Alluro continued to grin at her.“Now, damn you!!!”She said, almost hystericaly.Alluro raised the wooden part of his psyche club- and used the curved moon to slice Hypnalia’s crystal in half. The two peices fell to the ground, shattering. He called back his crystal, and walked off calmly.
“The Winner...Alluro!!!!”shouted the announcer. The crowd went wild.He had defeated her as though she was nothing at all.“Next up...Enchantress vs. Psiki!!”
“Boo!Boo!”Shouted the Bar crowd.Psiki and his opponent walked onto the arena, prepared to do battle.Psiki looked bored, something that annoyed most of the crowd.
“Mind if I sit here?”A familiar voice asked.Lyla turned to see Lord Bronze.
“If you didn’t I’d be angry,”Lyla said playfuly, “Sit down, join us in our taunt of Psiki.”Lord Bronze smiled, and sat next to the ice-race lunatac.
The match didn’t last very long.Psiki hypnotized his opponent to smash her own psyche-club.There was not much applause, except from those who had been threatened into doing so by Psiki’s family.
The rest of the matches were fairly uninteresting, Alluro battled and won every time, he even won all of his second round matches.Finnaly, it was time for the day’s matches to end for intermission, as the tournament was only half done. The next day would draw it to a conclusion.Neon bounced all the way down to where Alluro stood, and gave him a hug that would choke the life out of most.In fact Alluro wasn’t doing too well by it either.“Neon...glad to see you...but...need...air...”He gasped.Neon let him go and smiled.
“Sorry about that, just glad to see you.”She explained, “The whole gang is here!Let me take you to them!”Grabbing him by the arm, Alluro didn’t have time to protest, as he wanted to, before he was pulled into the air by his friend. They landed right in front of Lyla and Lord Bronze, who were deep in conversation. They stood up when their friends...joined them.
“Hey, congratulations, kid,”Lyla said, “You did real good out there!Only fifty-some matches to go, hssss!”
“He’s no child
anymore, Lyla,”Lord Bronze corrected,
“But you did do well, my pupil.”
“Well, not to boast, but...” Alluro
started,
“Yes, why don’t you refrain from that.”Said the gravity-race who was sitting with them.Alluro smiled.
“Good to see you too, Spring.”He said.
“Enough talking!”Neon said suddenly, “I’m hungry, lets get something to eat!”
While Neon gulped down her lunch, the rest of them talked.“I’d be willing to bet that Psiki made sure that he wouldn’t have to fight you until the final round,”Lord Bronze said, “so be sure to be prepared.Tommorrow will be much more difficult than today was.”
“Relax, Maestro,”Alluro said, “I can handle anything that puny little brat has to throw at me, you know that.”
“Oh God, I didn’t think it was possible, Alluro is even more overconfident, hssss.”Lyla teased.
“Yes, well (gulp) only time will tell (chomp)”Neon said, or tried to.
“uggh, slow down, Neon,”Scrya said, “You look like a mutant who hasn’t eaten in years.”
“I’ll ignore that.”Neon said.
“You’ve definately changed, though, kid.”Lyla said, “I could see a lot of it from a distance, but I hadn’t noticed that your horns had developed.”Everyone’s eyes fell upon Alluro’s forehead, and indeed, two stubby little horns had appeared where they had not been before.
“Yes, well, Maestro’s
teaching was quite...intense.”Alluro
said, “And I’m just glad it’s over.”
“Ah, but it will not be over,
at least, not until you have defeated Psiki.”Lord
Bronze pointed out.
“Well, as our hungry friend here said,” Alluro said, patting Neon on the back, “only time will tell.”
It was the match before the final match with Psiki.Alluro’s opponent attempted to confuse him with an image of himself, but instead of trying to hypnotize it, Alluro lunged at it and aimed a punch right above its head.It dissapeared, and a cracked crystal remained.
“The winner and finalist...Alluro!!!”Shouted the announcer. The crowd cheered, but was brought to an abrubt silence.
“Announcing the arrival of the second finnalist, Psiki!”Psiki gave Alluro an amused look, and walked onto the stage.“Let the battle for the Moon Club begin!”immidiately, both psychics launched their crystals at each other, and both dodged. They called back their crystals, and turned to face each other.Alluro grinned.
“Time for you to be defeated at last, Psiki.”He said.Psiki burst into laughter.
“Perhaps you should try talking to me instead of my image, Alluro.”He said.Suddenly, the wooden part of a psyche club came rushing at Alluro’s crystal.Alluro just barely managed to avoid it.Psiki walked out from behind him, and called back his crystal.“You’ll never defeat me, Alluro, you couldn’t even save that hunter bitch.”It seems that that was a poor choice of words, for Alluro immidiately retaliated by launching his crystal at Psiki.Psiki dodged, but the crystal followed him.“What?!How is this possible...unless...”unless he’s controlling it manualy Psiki though. He rushed at Alluro, who dodged, but the crystal stopped following due to the lapse in concentration.Alluro reatached his crystal.
“Not so brave now, are you?”He asked, no emotion in his face.Psiki looked at him for a moment. Then he burst into laughter.
“You fool!”He laughed, “You think that just because you’ve learned a few more tricks that you’re a match for me?You pathetic fool, you don’t stand a chance!”All of a sudden, it seemed that Psiki had grown in size, as well as strength, “I’ve always been stronger than anything you or that little bitch of yours could ever imagine!”He continued. That got the spot.Alluro rushed at Psiki.
“I don’t care how damn big you are, no one talks about Isa like that!”He said. All of a sudden, Psiki dissapeared.Behind him, the real Psiki laughed.
“My my, look who fell for the same trick twice.”Laughed the now normal sized Psiki. They stared at each other for a few minutes.Someone in the audience sneezed, triggering both of them to react. At almost the exact same instant, Psiki and Alluro threw their crystals at each other, and both of them were locked into each other’s hold.“I guess it’s time to prove that I am unbeatable to you, Alluro,”Psiki said menacingly, “Once and for all.”
“You never meant anything to me, Psiki.”Alluro said calmly.
“What?”
“The only reason I never went to search for you again was because I was afraid of crushing you like the insect you were.”Alluro continued.
“Nice try, but you can’t defeat me,”Psiki said, trying to regain the advantage, “You couldn’t even protect the girl...was Isa her name?”
“Watch it”Alluro growled.
“No, you couldn’t save her, so how would you be able to save yourself?Give it up, it is futile to resist me.”Psiki said.Alluro’s knees began to tremble.
“Couldn’t save her...”He repeated, “How can I save myself?”He fell to his knees.
“Now, return your crystal to your psyche club,”Psiki ordered.Alluro didn’t move.“I said return it!”He repeated, a bit more heated.Alluro finnaly caved in, and the crystal reattached to his club.“Now, destroy it!” Psiki ordered.
“Destroy it...” Alluro muttered.Psiki laughed with delight.
“And soon, the Moon Club will be mine, and nothing will stand in my way!”He said, a bit hystericaly.
“Really, I think you fail to appreciate the gravity of your situation.”Alluro said suddenly.Psiki snapped to attention, as the wooden end of a psche club was hurled at his crystal-from behind him.
“NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!”Psiki shouted, helpless as the edge of the club’s moon hit his crystal, shattering it into peices. He fell to his knees.‘Alluro’ dissapeared, and the crystal reattached to the club. The real Alluro walked over and picked it up.
“You see, you never stood a chance.”Alluro said coldly.
“But what about your crystal-”Psiki started to ask, when the ‘crystal’ above him dissapeared.
“An illusion from my own mind, without the aid of the psyche club.”Alluro explained.Psiki was speachless.
“And the winner, and champion...Alluro!!!!!”Shouted the annoncer. The crowd went absolutely insane. The cheering got to a point where ice blasts were spurting inadvertently from ice-race lunatacs in the crowd.Gravity-race lunatacs blasted their gravity carbines everywhere just for the light show, and it certainly was an amazing sight.Neon, Lyla, and the rest of the bar crew rushed down and all of them attempted to hug Alluro at once. The dazed psychic lunatac in question looked as though he still didn’t quite comprehend what had just happened.
“OH MY GOD!!! YOU WERE SO GREAT, OH MY-” was the basis of most of Neon’s sentences.
“I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!I TOUGHT YOU WELL, AS DID THAT TEACHER OF YOURS, I MEAN, WOW, I JUST- HSSSS!!!!”was the basis of most of Lyla’s sentences.
“And now, presenting to this year’s champion, the Moon Club!!”Alluro stood up and watched as a group of lunatacs in uniform marched up to him.The psychic-race lunatac in the lead held a glass case with what was presumably the Moon Club inside. He presented it to Alluro.Alluro opened the case and took it out.A feeling of belonging engulfed Alluro, and he knew that he would be with the psyche club for a long, long time.
“I hope that you do good by the Moon Club,”said the lead lunatac, “It is the most powerful of its kind.Even if it is broken, it can be regenerated, if the owner’s power is strong enough.Take care of it, as well as yourself.”With that, they shook hands, and he walked off.Alluro held tight to it, knowing full well that someone in the crowd would attempt to take it from him if he was not careful, he led his friends outside where they would be able to talk.
“Great job kid, I can’t believe it.”Lyla said, still gushing with pride.
“Hey, where’s Lord Bronze, I thought he’d be here smothering Alluro too.”Neon said.
“He was right behind me, I thought.”Scrya said.Alluro chuckled.
“He made his last appearance, I’m afraid.”the champion said.
“What?”Everyone asked in unision.
“Lord Bronze died three months ago,”Alluro explained, “he promised to make it to my victory, and he did. However, he could not stay afterwards, those are the rules of the spiritual realm.”Everyone was shocked.
“You mean-he-”Neon stuttered.
“But-but I-hssss....” Lyla said, a puff of condensed water coming from her lips.
“Excuse me.”A harsh voice said. They turned to see an ice-race female, wearing a blue-white cape that only the greater warriors wore.
“And how can I help you, lovely lady.”Alluro asked, trying to be charming.
“Trust me, I’m no lady, hsss.”The lunatac said, “The name’s Chilla.I was sent here by Luna to find a powerful new psychic for our influential group.”
“I’m well aware of Luna and her group,”Alluro said, “And I think perhaps it would be nice to utilize the power of this club to its fullest...”He gave a look of farewell to his friends.
“Go on, kid, just promise to keep in touch,”Lyla said, “Or we’ll hunt you down.”
“We’ll miss you, Alluro.”Neon said sadly.Alluro gave them a hug for what was probably the last emotional moment in his life, and walked off with Chilla. He put his arm around her shoulder.
“So, Chilla, you have a taste in psychic men?”He asked. She responded by freezing his arm, then melting it with a heat blast.
“Only when they’ve been cooked, hssss”she said menacingly.Alluro smiled.Somehow, he knew he was going to enjoy this new life.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Or is it?
Still on his knees, unable to comprehend his defeat, Psiki was suddenly engulfed by rage.“I will get you, Alluro,”He said coldly, “And then the Moon Club will be mine!!!”
