Part 96

The rising sun bathed Cat’s Lair with its warm yellow light, promising another pleasant sunny spring day. In the master bedroom where Lion-O and Cheetara slept, the rising sunlight crept into the bedroom. Its rays hit Lion-O’s face, awakening him to a new day. When he awakened, he saw that his wife wasn’t sleeping beside him. He got up, looking for his her. Noticing she wasn’t in the room, there was only one place she could be now. The Lord of the Thundercats went to the bedroom closest to his and heard a lullaby being sung as he got to the doorway. He saw his wife sitting in the rocking chair, feeding their son. Lion-O walked in and looked down at the two.

Cheetara looked up and smiled. “Did we wake you?”

“No. How long has he been up? I didn’t here him cry.”

“Liam cried a few minutes ago. His diaper needed to be changed and it was time for his next feeding. You were too deep in your sleep to hear him.”

“I’ll get him the next time,” Lion-O said kneeling down beside Cheetara and Liam. “Do you think he’s ready to handle the Sword of Omens yet?”

Cheetara laughed. “I think he has a some years to go before that. While we’re in here, we can talk about Tygra. As you know, we haven’t made a decision about him.”

Lion-O stood up. “The answer is a simple no. He’s caused us too much pain and suffering: causing my memory lost, separating us twice, trying to kill me. There is no way that traitor will be reinstated as a Thundercat. He’s out of here.” Lion-O said angrily. He saw that Cheetara had a look of sorrow on her face. “Don’t tell me you want him to continue living with us?”

*****

Tygra sat on his bed. His chin rested on his hand and he was thinking seriously. The tiger played it smart and avoided Lion-O and Cheetara whenever he could. They haven’t contacted him on their decision and that was making him nervous. His mind drift back four weeks ago when he requested to be reinstated back with the Thundercats.

“I request that you reinstate me as a Thundercat.” Tygra said.

“Are you out of your mind? Do you think we’re going to let you back in after all you’ve done?” Lion-O growled angrily.

“Just here me out.” Tygra said solemnly. “I know you are upset and I understand. I see that Cheetara will always love you and not me. There is no way I or anybody can destroy what you have. That’s very obvious. I don’t want to be your enemy anymore. I want to be your friend again and I want to be an honorable Thundercat.”

“What makes you think we can trust you again or even believe what you say?” Cheetara asked.

“You have to believe me. I don’t know how, but I can prove it to you. If there were a way now, I would show you I’m telling the truth. I will never come between you and Lion-O again. You have my word.”

“I wonder if that was enough to prove my honesty.” Tygra thought aloud.

Panthro went straight to the control room after his shower. All he’s ever done since his breakup with Vasa was work. The twins picked up on this behavior, but there was nothing they could do and they didn’t have time talking to Lion-O and Cheetara because they were busy with their own child and Lion-O was catching up on all the work he missed.

WilyKat walked in the room and sat in one of the side panels. He saw Panthro working at the controls and shook his head feeling sorry for him.

“Morning, Panthro,” Kat said.

“What are you doing up, WilyKat? You should be resting.”

“I had to get up. I couldn’t sleep.”

“Why couldn’t you sleep?”

“Sleeping uncomfortable for one. I guess my body isn’t its 100% self.”

“When have you ever been 100%?” Panthro joked.

The doors opened and Tygra stepped in. WilyKat and Panthro looked back and became silent. Panthro and WilyKat just stared at Tygra quietly. They didn’t know what to say to him and were wondering why he was still living at the lair. They thought for sure Lion-O and Cheetara would’ve banished him by now.

“I’m sorry for interrupting. I’ll go back to my room now.” Tygra said.

“No, you can stay, Tygra,” WilyKat offered. WilyKat thought for a moment, trying to find something to ask him and blurted out. “How’s life going for you?” Oh, good question, Kat.

Tygra raised an eyebrow. “I should be asking you how you are feeling, WilyKat. I am feeling a lot of regrets and I wish I can change what I’ve done.”

“You should feel ashamed for what you did,” Panthro said. “It’s a miracle you’re still here.”

*****

Cheetara stop feeding her child and covered herself up. She let her son’s head rest on her shoulder. She rubbed the back gently. “I’m not certain on what his punishment should be. I know that he has done an awful lot of evil things to us, but something in me tells me he has changed.”

“Changed? He’s never going to change. That performance in the hospital was mere acting. There isn’t an honest bone in that worthless, striped body of his. Don’t let your good heart cloud your judgment, Cheetara.” Lion-O told her sternly.

Cheetara looked up at him surprisingly.

Cheetara stepped back from Tygra. “What are you talking about?”

“There is no need for you to deny it. You're starting to appreciate and maybe trust me again. You have and always will have a kind, forgiving heart. I'll bet that if the mutants and Lunatacs changed their evil ways, you would forgive them. That's just the way you are and one of the reasons why I love you so much.”

Cheetara's face was mixed with anger and confusion. “You don't know me as you think and so what if I do have a forgiving heart. It doesn't mean that I'll forgive you for all you have done. Nothing will make me forgive for that.”

“You will, my dear. Whether it's a month, a year, five or ten years, you'll eventually forgive me because of your noble heart.” (84)

“Cheetara? Cheetara?”

Cheetara looked up at Lion-O. “Huh?”

“Is something the matter?”

“Um, no, not really. I was thinking about something Tygra told me when you were away.”

Lion-O raised an eyebrow. “What did he say?”

“He said that I have a noble heart and I’ll eventually forgive him.” Cheetara answered quietly.

“You see? That rat was working on your mind even when I was gone. He was probably expecting something like this to happen. What else happened while I was gone?”

Cheetara remembered the kiss. She wasn’t sure she should tell Lion-O now, and even though he wouldn’t understand it, she didn’t want to have this conversation around her son.

The baby burped. Cheetara got up from her rocking chair and walked into the bathroom. Lion-O was aware Cheetara wasn’t answering his question. He followed her in there. Cheetara gave Lion-O Liam. He held his son with one arm as he rest on him and turned Cheetara to face him.

“Cheetara, what happened? What did Tygra do?”

“Lion-O, maybe now is not the time.” She went into the closet and took out a small blue tub. She ran warm water in it and added baby soap to the water.

“Well, when is the right time?” He asked impatiently.

“I’ll tell you soon. I want you to calm down and I don’t want to discuss this in front of Liam.” Cheetara said with a hand in the water.

“You’re the one who brought up the conversation,” Lion-O pointed out.

Cheetara turned off the water. It was too warm for Liam. “Now I wish I hadn’t.” Cheetara said taking Liam from Lion-O. She laid their son on a changing table and begins undressing him.

“Cheetara, I want to discuss this. I want to know what had happened while I was gone.”

Liam started to cry. He didn’t like being undress and the cool air coming in contact with his skin. He begins to wiggle. Cheetara smiled thoughtfully and kissed her son.

“It’s going to be okay. You won’t be cool for long,” Cheetara said softly.

Cheetara picked Liam up and kneel in front of the tub. She stuck a hand in the tub. It was warm enough for Liam so she placed him in his blue tub. “I understand you wanting to know, Lion-O and you will.” Cheetara got on her knees and begin cleaning her son.

Lion-O knelt beside her. “When?”

“Maybe when you cool down a bit.”

“Fine, but we are going to talk about it.”

“I know. I want to talk about it, but not right now.”

Liam played with the water and splashed some on his parents. Lion-O and Cheetara laughed at their son playfulness.

“I think he wants us to take a bath with him.” Cheetara said.

“I wouldn’t mind that.” Lion-O said a little playfully as he moved closer to the cheetah.

Cheetara smiled mischievously.  “I think you need to take a shower now, and a cold one at that.”

“That’s not going to change anything and you know that,” Lion-O said.

“Two weeks, Lion-O. Two weeks,” Cheetara said.

“I know. I know. I guess a cool shower wouldn’t be too bad.” Lion-O said. He kissed Cheetara’s right temple and left the room.

*****

“I do feel ashamed for what I’ve done, Panthro. I hope they can forgive me, but I don’t think they will,” Tygra said.

“They shouldn’t forgive you.”

“Cut it out, Panthro. It’s not our decision. It’s Lion-O and Cheetara’s. Whatever they say, we will agree to it.” WilyKat said.

“It think it’s best that I leave,” Tygra said and left.

“Why did you do that, Panthro? He seems sorry for what he’s done. I think you should have been nicer to him.”

“He doesn’t deserve any sympathy,” Panthro said.

“Does the same go for me aunt? No sympathy for what she did?”

*****

With Liam clean, Cheetara took him out of his tub and wrapped him in a dry towel. “Now that you’re all clean. I’m going to put you in some nice clean clothes.”

Liam giggled and tried to move around in his mother’s arms.

“You don’t like staying still, do you?” Cheetara asked and tickled him. Liam laughed. Cheetara heard one of Liam’s toys playing. That was odd. Someone else must be in there. Cheetara picked up Liam and held him close to her. She stepped out of the bathroom. “Lion-O is that—” Cheetara stopped when she saw that it wasn’t her husband. “Tygra.”

“Hi,” Tygra said quietly.

“Hello, Tygra. What are you doing in here?”

“I saw the door open and I wanted to see what Liam looks like. I haven’t seen him since he was born. Have you and Lion-O made your decision about me?”

“Almost,” Cheetara answered. She kept her distance from him. He wasn’t trustworthy.

Tygra noticed how protectively Cheetara was holding Liam. From the five feet distance between them, Tygra could tell the child has grown. “Your son looks bigger.”

“Yes. Liam is getting bigger as well as strong. He’s very alert for a child four weeks old. He takes after his father so much.”

Tygra smiled. “That’s a good sign. He’s going to be very strong and bright.” He pauses before he asked his next question. “May I hold him?”

Cheetara looked at him surprised.

“I promise not to drop him. I mean no harm to Liam. I prove that to you when he was born.”

Cheetara looked down at Liam. She hopes this wasn’t a mistake or she’ll be in trouble with Lion-O. “Okay,” Cheetara said hesitantly. She walked to Tygra and he met her halfway. She handed her son to him. “Careful with his head.” Cheetara said cautiously.

“I’ve got it.” He said. Liam opened his eyes and looked at Tygra curiously. Tygra noticed he had Cheetara’s eyes. “He has your beautiful eyes. Ones that can see through one’s soul.” Tygra commented.

Cheetara was very quiet before responding. “Um…thank you.”

“You know I love you,” Tygra said.

Another pause. “Yes, I do know that, but I don’t love you. I like to have my son back now.”

“I understand and I know you don’t have the same feelings for me. I really want you to be happy and I see Lion-O is the man for you.” Tygra commented and begin to hand Liam back to his mother.

Lion-O came in the room. “Cheetara, have you seen—Tygra? Get your hands off my son!” He marched between the two and got Liam. “Cheetara, how could you let this monster hold our son?!”

Scared, Liam begins to cry.

“Oh, I’m sorry, little guy,” Lion-O said calming his son down.

Cheetara gently got Liam from his father. “He was just holding him, Lion-O.” Liam still cried. “It’s all right, sweetie.”

“It was my fault, Lion-O. Don’t put any blame on Cheetara. I’m sorry.” Tygra said and left.

*****

Panthro didn’t respond to WilyKat’s question. He resumes his work.

“I’m waiting for an answer, Panthro.”

“There’s nothing to answer. My relationship with Vasa is over. I’ve dealt with it. Why can’t you? She’s done too many unforgivable things.”

WilyKat folded his arms. “Boy, aren’t you the hypocrite. You wanted us to forgive you about your role in our parents death and we did.”

“That was different, Kit.”

“Why, because you murdered our parents.”

“And it’s something I regret.”

“You don’t think my aunt regrets for what she did?” WilyKat asked slightly upset with the panther.

“She may feel remorse, but it is still completely different. I didn’t sell my body to an enemy like she. I didn’t do things she did.” Panthro argued.

WilyKat folded his arms. “Maybe so, but you need to do some serious thinking before you pass judgment.” Kat said and left. “I guess Cheetara is the only one who can get through him.”

Part 97

Cheetara entered her room in high spirits. After Tygra left, Lion-O went to take his shower and Cheetara dressed Liam. Cheetara stayed in the room a little longer to play with him until he got tired and fell asleep. With her son napping, Cheetara thought now would be as good as any to spend some quality time with her husband. Through the sleepless nights, feedings, diaper changes, and their careers as Thundercats, the couple rarely found any time together. When she entered the room, Lion-O was in the bathroom putting cologne on himself. Cheetara entered, wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek.

“I’m sorry for what happened earlier.”

Lion-O turned around and hugged Cheetara. “It’s all right. Liam is safe now.”

“I put Liam down for his nap, so we can have a little times to ourselves.” Cheetara took his hand and lead him to the bed. “What do you say?”

“I thought you said two weeks.”

“Yes, but we can just cuddle a bit.” Cheetara suggested.

Lion-O picked Cheetara up and she laughs. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He laid her down on the bed and he laid beside her and kissed her. Their kisses started off soft and tender and deepened to be heavier and passionate. Someone knocks on the door, but the couple ignores it.

“Lion-O? Cheetara? Are you in there?” It was WilyKat.

“Let’s ignore them,” Lion-O said in-between kisses.

“We have to talk to you. It’s an emergency.” This time WilyKit spoke.

Lion-O groaned frustrated and pulled away from Cheetara. “It’s always an emergency, isn’t it?” Lion-O asked his wife.

“I’ll be there in a minute,” Cheetara told the twins. She looked at Lion-O. “Always an emergency, love. I’ll let the twins in.” Cheetara got off the bed and straightened her hair as she walked to the door. She opens the door. “Good morning, WilyKit. WilyKat. What’s the emergency?”

The twins stood there for a second. Cheetara sounded too cheerful, she looked flushed, her hair wasn’t neat, and they could smell Lion-O’s cologne on her. They knew what was going on in there.

“We need to talk to you. It’s about Panthro,” WilyKit said.

*****

After the incident with Lion-O and Cheetara in Liam’s room, Tygra went back to his room. He was only in there for a few minutes when a knock came to his door. He opened the door and let Bengali in.

“Bengali, what is it?”

Bengali punched Tygra. Caught off guard, Tygra fell to the ground from the single blow.

Tygra felt blood on his lips. He wiped it off and looked up at the white, angry tiger. “Bengali….what was that all about?”

“That’s for how stupid you were.”

“Yes, I know what I did was stupid.” Tygra said getting up.

“You got that right! How could you try to kill Lion-O?! What were you thinking?! Were you thinking about us at all?!”

*****

Cheetara and Lion-O sat next to each on their bed as WilyKat mention the part he didn’t tell when Cheetara was in the hospital: WilyKit’s telling Panthro her aunt’s secret life.

“So they broke up?”

“Yes, Cheetara. WilyKat and I tried to talk to Panthro to get him to at least talk to our aunt if not forgive her.”

“You usually can get through Panthro better than anyone,” WilyKat added.

“So, we were hoping you could talk to him.”

Cheetara sighed. “I’ll try, but I’m not going to promise anything. Panthro is rather stubborn.”

“We know, and we know you’ll do your best.” WilyKit said and she and her brother left the room.

Cheetara leaned back on the bed and let out a sigh.

“You got your work cut out.” Lion-O commented.

“Yep. I’ll just have to talk and try to convince him to talk to Vasa, but that’s going to be hard to do. I mean, he has good reason not to forgive her and to not even talk to her, but I can understand Vasa protecting her secret.”

“It’s really his decision if he wants to see her anymore.” Lion-O added.

“I know. I know the twins want them together but that may not be. If he takes her back, that’s good, but if he doesn’t take her back, the twins will have to accept that.”

“You’re right about that.” Lion-O agreed.

Cheetara placed her hands behind her head. “I also can’t see how I can have Panthro forgive Vasa when we haven’t decide on what to do about Tygra.”

“That’s completely, different, Cheetara, and you know it.”

“I know, but lately I’ve been thinking. Something wasn’t right with the delivery.”

Lion-O was confused. “What do you mean? Everything came out right, except for that scene with Liam after his birth.”

“Yes. In either case, I’m going to see Sarah.”

Lion-O looked at her. “Is everything all right?”

“Yes. I just have to talk to her about some things.”

“Well, I don’t want you to go alone. I’ll go with you.” Lion-O offered.

“No, that’s all right. I’ll get Bengali to drive me there.” Cheetara said getting off the bed and walking to the closet. She pulls out a shirt and loose fitting pants.

“Why, Bengali. Why not, Panthro?” Lion-O asked joining her at the closet.

Cheetara looked at Lion-O perplexed. “Why should it be Panthro? Do you have a problem with Bengali?”

“No, not really. It’s just that Tygra’s gotten me so paranoid that I’m thinking if he wanted you, Bengali may have some feelings and a motive as well.” Lion-O admitted shamefully.

Cheetara was shocked. “Lion-O, how can you think that? Bengali sees me no more as a friend.”

“We thought the same thing about Tygra and we were wrong.”

“Trust me, Lion-O. He doesn’t like me like that. Personally, I think he has an eye for a certain puma on Thundercat on 3rd Earth.”

“Pumyra?” Lion-O said surprise.

“Yes.”

“When did that happen?”

Cheetara laughed at his naiveté. “Lion-O, you are so blind. Can’t you see how anxious he is for next week to arrive?”

“I thought it was because of everyone getting to meet Liam next week at his belated homecoming party.”

“Actually, it’s because Bengali gets to be reunited with Pumyra.” A smiled came across her face and she wrapped her arms around his neck. “I’ve been thinking. How about we not only make this party a belated homecoming for Liam, but how about a homecoming for the Thundercats on 3rd Earth as well.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, 3rd Earth has been so peaceful. I think it’s time we brought Pumyra, Lynx-O and Snarfer back to New Thundera permanently.”

“That sounds like a good idea, but what about 3rd Earth? Who will protect it?”

“Over the years, we all have taken turn guarding 3rd Earth. Throughout that time, we have taught our Thunderian technology to our 3rd Earth friends. I think we should let them handle 3rd Earth on their own and we only go there for monthly check ups. I believe 3rd Earth is free of all evil with Mumm-Ra, the Mutant and Lunatacs gone.”

“It sounds like a good idea, my Lady. We will bring it up at the party. Maybe it is time we brought them home.” He wrapped his arm around her. “So, how long will you be gone?”

“I hope not to long. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

“Good,” he said and kissed her. “Bengali can drive you, but when you get back, I want us to make a final decision on Tygra and I want to talk about everything he did while I was gone.”

Cheetara kissed him lightly on the lips. “You read my mind.”

*****

“What in the world are you talking about?”

“How could you pull a stunt like that; attempting to kill Lion-O so you can rule Thundera and be with Cheetara. Have you thought about what your madness did to us tigers?! You’ve given us a bad name. Even Lion-O looks at me differently when I’m talking to Cheetara or when I’m holding Liam.”

“He’s paranoid,” Tygra said simply.

“Yeah, because of you!”

“I do love Cheetara. I will not deny that.”

“And I won’t deny doing this,” Bengali said and punched Tygra again. This time Tygra kept his balance.

“You’re just a sick tiger who can’t get over a loved one. Times are different. Cheetara has moved on. You had a chance but blew it. You and Cheetara weren’t meant to be. All relationships don’t work out. It happens all the time. Get over it!”

“Listen, Bengali. I know I made a mistake. I hope Lion-O and Cheetara will forgive me.”

“After what you did, don’t be surprise they don’t.”

“I understand that the chances are slim for them to forgive me, but I have changed. I mean them no harm, not anymore.”

Bengali folded his arms doubtingly. “Yeah, right. We’ll see. If they forgive you, you have a lot of groveling to do before them.” He said and stormed out, slamming the door.

Part 98

Nearly an hour later, Cheetara and Bengali were almost at Sarah’s clinic. On the way there, Cheetara thought about the delivery. She discovered something wasn’t right. The cheetah never thought about it during the delivery because she was going through the pains of labor. Bengali parked the Thundertank in front of the building and Cheetara got out. She told Bengali she would be no more than an hour and suggest he go in the city and hinted at buying Pumyra something for her return to Thundera the next week. The white tiger didn’t know about the homecoming Lion-O and Cheetara were planning. They were planning to announce that at the party. Bengali took the offer and drove off. When Cheetara entered, she asked to see her doctor. Luckily it wasn’t a busy day, so the Lady of Thundera was able to see her.

“What brings you here, Cheetara? Your appointment isn’t for another two weeks,” Sarah said as she closed the door.

Cheetara took a seat on the couch. “I wanted to talk about the delivery.”

“I can’t put it back in,” Sarah said sitting down as well.

“Excuse me?”

“Some mothers and fathers want to put the baby back in because they say they can’t handle the crying, feeding, diapers and all that.”

Cheetara laughed understanding what her friend meant. “No, it’s not that. Lion-O and I are very happy with Liam. I want to talk about the delivery with Tygra.”

“What about it?”

“Why did you have him help you with the delivery?” Cheetara asked.

“Because I needed help.”

“Don’t take this the wrong way, but I don’t believe you.”

Sarah raised an eyebrow. “How else am I supposed to take it?”

“I know you. You don’t work with people. You prefer to work by yourself. You like to be in control. That’s why you have your own practice. I didn’t realize it during the labor because I was in pain, but now that my head is clear, I can think straight.”

Sarah smirked and left the couch to pour herself another cup of coffee. She sat on the edge of her desk and sipped it. “And to think I thought you didn’t know me as well as you used to. You’re still very sharp and have a good memory. You’re right. I could’ve easily handled that delivery, even with the problem with Liam. I’ve had tougher deliveries.”

“Then why didn’t you deliver Liam by yourself?”

Sarah set her cup down. “Only one answer for that question: Tygra.”

*****

Lion-O sat in the Council Room with Liam sleeping over his shoulder. He had changed his diaper, but when he put Liam back down, he cried. Lion-O would hand him to Snarf, but Liam continued to cry. Only when he was in his father’s arms, did Liam stop crying. So, Lion-O thought it was best that Liam stayed with him, until his mother came back anyway. Lion-O sent WilyKit to find Tygra and tell him to come to the council room. Tygra entered the room. He expected to feel tension when entering the room, but he found the air to be surprisingly calm. Tygra guessed it was because Lion-O had Liam with him and babies can sense when their carrier is uneasy which makes them uncomfortable and cry.

Tygra took a seat across from father and son. “WilyKit said you wanted to see me.”

“Yes, I did. I want to talk to you. Cheetara and I haven’t made our decision yet. In fact when she gets back, we’re going to make our final decision.”

“So when will I be notified?” Tygra asked.

“When we decide is best.” There was eerie silence between. Finally, Lion-O spoke again. “My question is why. Why? Why did you do it? All the things you did, the trouble you cause myself, Cheetara and Liam.”

“I’ve never hurt Liam.”

“Yes, you did. You’re the reason why Cheetara went into labor early. If you didn’t try to kill me, which made me lose my memory, Cheetara wouldn’t have tried to find me on Minerva, which caused her to fall, and forced her into labor, which harm my son’s life. He could’ve died because of you. Cheetara could’ve died because of you in your useless attempt to make her love you.”

Tygra realized Lion-O was right. “Yes, I see my mistakes. I know what I did was wrong and I deserve whatever I have coming to me.”

“You got that right. Given your record, just humor me and tell me why we should reinstate you.”

Tygra took a moment before answering. “I know there is no good reason but the truth is I have change. You must believe me because of your son.”

*****

“Tygra, why him?”

“One time, during one of your pregnancy check ups, you mention how much you hated Tygra. I never have seen you like that before. This wasn’t you. You were so nice and kind.”

“That man took away my husband for two months and almost caused me to lose my son. All the pains I had during my pregnancy after Lion-O was missing was caused by him.”

“Yes that is true, and I felt the same way about Tygra, but you were always a forgiving person and when I talked to Tygra after your fall, he seemed sorry for what he did. I don’t know something told me he was telling the truth.”

“Tygra can be deceiving.”

“Yes, I know that, but this time he seems to be sincere, so I entrusted him to help with the delivery, to prove he has changed.”

“That was a big risk.”

“I know, Cheetara, but I knew it was the right thing.”

Cheetara sighed and shook her head as if she didn’t know what to do. “I really don’t know what to think. Lion-O made some good reasons and you made some good reasons as well. Part of me really wants to believe he has change, but another part of me is scared that this is another scheme. We all fell for so many before.”

Sarah smiled in understanding. “Yes, I see that. The only thing I can say is that, Cheetara, you have the greatest heart, you’re the strongest person I know, and you have the best instincts. Close you eyes, concentrate, shut everything out of your life and focus on Tygra and all the things he has done to you, good and bad, let your heart, your instinct  be your guide.”

Cheetara nodded. She closed her eyes and concentrated. The only thing her mind was focusing on was Tygra. She thought about the good times and bad. She thought about his lies in the beginning, his deceptiveness: the monster that almost killed her, that was meant to kill Lion-O, his destroying her wedding to the Lord of the Thundercats, all the lies he accused Lion-O of after his first marriage, the times when she looked at him and thought she was looking at a friend but was looking at an enemy, Tygra’s assassination attempt of her husband, his taking over Lion-O’s role as Lord of the Thundercats, while Lion-O was missing, his futile attempts of trying to win her over, Liam’s delivery, the way he was in Liam’s room today. The negatives outweighed the positives. The answer was clear. Cheetara opened her eyes. She knew what had to be done. She knew what to do with Tygra.

“Cheetara, do you have an answer?”

Cheetara nodded her head. “Yes. I should go now.” She stood from her seat and gave her friend a hug. “Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.”

Cheetara waved goodbye and left the clinic. Bengali had just pulled up.

“Everything is all right?”

“Yes,” Cheetara said getting in. “Let’s go.”

*****

“Why should I believe you because of your son?”

“I didn’t hurt him when he was born. I held that tiny life in my hands, and if I were evil, I could have done away with him.”

“And if you did that, I would have killed you with my bare hands,” Lion-O said getting angry.

“Yes, you would have and you would have every right to do it, but I didn’t do it. I could have, but didn’t because in that child is Cheetara. I will always love her. You must understand that I changed the moment I learned Cheetara’s life was in danger. I knew then that what I was doing was wrong. I was selfish.” Tygra said.

“That just one word of a thousand to describe you.” Lion-O growled. “I’m through talking to you,” Lion-O said getting up. Lion-O looked at Liam and noticed that he slept through the conversation. “You’ll know your fate soon enough.” He snarled and walked out of the room.

Part 99

When Cheetara returned to the lair, she looked around for Panthro. She had to talk to him first before Lion-O. The cheetah found the panther working in the control room.

“Panthro.”

Panthro turned around to see Cheetara. “Hey, Cheetara. What is it?”

“May I talk to you?”

“About what?”

“I think you know.”

Panthro’s face contorted in anger and annoyance. “No, Cheetara, not you too. I don’t want to talk about her.”

“Panthro, WilyKit and WilyKat told me all about what happened on that mountain and in the hospital between you and Vasa. You have every right not to forgive her.”

“But….” Panthro said expecting her to say more.

“If the twins feel she should be forgiven for her actions, then maybe you should open your heart to it or at least talk to her.” Cheetara suggested.

“No,” Panthro said coldly. “She kept this secret from me, she does not deserve to be forgiven.”

“What if she told you the whole truth when you first met, would you have forgiven her then?”

“No.”

“Then what choice did she have?! Either way, you wouldn’t have forgiven her. She had no choice but to keep that secret from you. Even though I’m not fond of keeping secrets, a lot of good came out of this one.”

“How so?” Lion-O asked gruffly.

“Well, for one, you were able to love again.”

“Look at what kind of love that was: a love in secret. We had to keep our relationship a secret for over a year before the twins found out.”

“And who fault was that?” Cheetara asked folding her arms.

Panthro knew she had him there. “All right, it was mine, but it was to protect the twins.”

“The same goes for Vasa. She kept her secret to protect you.”

“Yes, but look at what my secret cause: WilyKit turned against us and wanted to kill me and almost killed her brother before she snapped back to normality.” Panthro pointed out. “And before you say that Vasa secret didn’t cause anything, it did. Because of her, the love of my life was killed and I end of killing WilyKit and WilyKat’s parent.”

Cheetara’s mouth fell opened. “I can’t believe you, Panthro. First you accused yourself for killing the twins parents and now you’re blaming their deaths on the twins’ aunt.”

“It is her fault. If she hadn’t kept the secret….”

“You don’t know that, Panthro. Who knows what may have happened? Let’s say that Vasa did tell you about Aline and everyone is saved. What’s to stop them from doing it again, which they would’ve and might have been successful. Aline would have been dead anyway as well as you and most of the people of the Thundera. If not dead, then they might have been slaves.”

She had him again. Panthro hated the fact that Cheetara could always outwit him or point his faults out in a fight. He can never win in a fight against her.

“So what do you want me to do? You want me to forgive her?” Panthro asked.

“No.”

“You want me to not forgive her?”

“No.”

“Then what do you want me to do?”

“I want you to decide what you want. This is your life, Panthro. Not the twins. Only you can decide. Sure, the twins want you to forgive their aunt so you will all be happy together, but all romances don’t end that way. All romances don’t end in happiness. Some end in sadness, and if that is what to happen with you and Vasa, then the twins must deal with that. Despite how they are feeling, they want you two to be happy and if it’s separate or together, they will have to deal with it. All I’m asking is that you talk to her and she talk to you and then you two decide what is best. Whatever it may be, you have our support one hundred percent.”

Panthro took in her advice. Maybe Cheetara had a point. Maybe it would do some good to talk to her. He would have to anyway. “Thanks, Cheetara,” Panthro said and gave her a hug.

“Good luck.”

*****

After talking to Panthro a little more, Cheetara entered her bedroom. She saw two figures lying on the bed. She walked closer and smiled when she saw Lion-O and Liam sleeping. Liam slept content on his father’s chest. Cheetara sat on the bed and kissed Lion-O’s forehead. Lion-O slowly opened his eyes. He blinks a couple of times to focus them. He saw Cheetara smiling at him. He raised a hand behind her neck and pulled her down to kiss him. Lion-O ran a hand through her hair. It fell across their faces as they continue to kiss. Liam wakes up. The baby boy reaches out and grabs his mother’s hair. He babbles incoherently as he continues to pull his mother’s hair. Cheetara broke from Lion-O and smiles at Liam.

“Hey, sweetie. Mommy missed you,” Cheetara picks up her son and kisses him on the check. “We must have waken him up.”

“You talked to your doctor? Everything okay?”

“Everything’s fine Lion-O and I talked to Panthro. It’s up to him to decide what he wants. I just gave him a push.”

“Good, now that you got that out of the way, we can now focus on Tygra.”

“Right.” Cheetara said. She looked at Liam. “And to think I wanted to talk about him without Liam around.”

“We could always take Liam back to his room.” Lion-O suggested.

“No, that’s all right. I want him to stay with me.”

Lion-O sat up and leaned against the headboard of their bed. “So, what happened while I was gone?”

Her back to her husband, Cheetara sighed. “I knew you were going to ask that first. It all started the following morning after your incident with him. Panthro and Bengali have been up all night searching for your and where you might have gone. I called a meeting that afternoon to discuss what to do. In the middle of it, Tygra shows up. Right when he showed up, I knew he had something to do with your absence, especially after he said he heard you were missing which was impossible because no one besides the Thundercats knew about it. Anyway, he came to take over as Lord of the ThunderCats.”

“What?!” Lion-O said enraged.

Cheetara turned to look at him. “Yes. We didn’t believe him but when we read the Book of Omens, we knew he was right.”

“How?”

“You never officially made anyone second-in-command besides Tygra, and after his betrayal, you never had anyone takes his place.”

“But you’re second-in-command. You’re my wife. If anything should happen to me, I want you to lead the Thundercats.”

Cheetara nodded. “I knew you would say that, but to make someone officially second-in-command, I must be appointed and all the Thundercats must agree to it. You never did that.”

“Oh, I see. What else happened?”

“He would talk to me, I like to call it bothering me about how we should get along since he was ruling Thundera and he even had the audacity to say he’s responsible of me.”

Cheetara saw Lion-O’s tense, angry look. Cheetara looked down at Liam and said. “There’s more.”

“Whenever I would talk to Tygra or after he left and sometimes he wasn’t even there, I would get pains in my stomach. Each time, they occur, it would get stronger. It got so strong that I collapsed.”

“Wait. I remember sensing you were in trouble. That’s how I remember you. Was that the time?” Lion-O asked.

Cheetara nodded. “There must have been the time.” Liam gurgled and cooed. Cheetara calmed him down.

“Were you all right?”

“Sarah told me it was stress: both from wondering where you are and from Tygra.” Cheetara answered. “I rested and that’s when I had a vision of you.”

“Is there anything else he did?”

“Yes. The night before my collapsed, Tygra kissed me.”

That enraged Lion-O. “That monster kissed you! How?!”

“I was sleeping and I felt someone kissing my neck. I thought it was you and I called your name. That’s when he kissed me.”

“I’ll kill him! I’ll kill him!” Lion-O growled angrily.

Seeing his father angry sort of frightened Liam. He began to cry. Cheetara rubbed her son back and rocked him.

“Shh! It’s okay. Daddy’s just angry, but it’s not your fault.” Cheetara looked at Lion-O. “I knew we shouldn’t have talked about Tygra with him in here.” She got Liam to quiet down, but then he started to cry again. Cheetara felt his bottom, he wasn’t wet. “When’s the last time he was feed?”

“About two hours ago.”

“Time for another feeding then,” Cheetara said and unbuttoned her shirt. She begins feeding her son.

“He’s out of here, Cheetara. I don’t want him anywhere near you or Liam.”

“I understand, but I think we should give him another chance.”

Lion-O couldn’t believe Cheetara said that. “How could you say that?”

“If it wasn’t for him, the Liam wouldn’t be here.”

Lion-O scoffed and said. “That’s the same thing Tygra said when I talked to him while you were gone.”

“He also was the one to tell Panthro to call my doctor when I collapsed.”

“It’s the least he could’ve done since he’s the one for the cause of it, and before you say it, remember that if he hadn’t cause my memory loss, you wouldn’t have fallen off the castle in Minerva and cause you to go into labor early.”

Cheetara smiled and shook her head. “You know me so well, but I feel he’s going in the right direction by helping with the birth of Liam. That could have been his fault and it might not have, but he did help save our son’s life.” Cheetara looked down at her son. “He’s so adorable and beautiful. I can’t imagine my life without him. Look how happy he is.”

“Of course he’s happy. He’s eating,” Lion-O joked.

With a free hand, Cheetara smacked him on the arm playfully. Liam soon got full and let his mother know. Cheetara gave Liam to Lion-O so he could burp him while she fixed her clothes.

“Like I said, maybe Tygra’s saving Liam is his first step in helping proving he’s changed.”

“If he did change and we forgave him, he still have to be punished for all the things he is responsible for.” Lion-O said and looked at her. “Do you realize what you are saying?”

“Yes, I do. However, you are Lord of the Thundercats, and you are a husband and father, it is up to you to make the final decision and whatever that maybe, I’ll support you and agree to it.”

“You won’t have any doubts about my decision?” Lion-O asked.

“No, because either way is right. You have every right to banish him or reinstate him.”

Liam burped and Lion-O looked back at him. He was smiling now.

“You like that, don’t you?” Lion-O said

Liam laughed. Lion-O just smiled.

“He’s got a killer smile.”

“Of course he does. He gets it from you.” Cheetara said and kissed him on the cheek. The two spent the rest of the day with their son, and by the time he went to sleep, Lion-O made a decision.

Part 100

A week later, Panthro finally decided it was time to talk to his ex. It was something he agonized over, but he knew he would have to talk to her sooner or later. He walked up the door of Vasa’s home and knocked on the door. The door opened. Vasa’s mouth fell open when she saw him.

“Panthro, what are you doing here?”

“I wanted to talk to you. I can’t stay too long. I have Liam’s party to get too. It’s a belated homecoming for him. I’m sure Kit and Kat told you about that. I’m surprised they didn’t invite you.”

“They did. I turned it down. I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.”

“May I come in?”

“Uh, sure,” she said and let Panthro in her home. She closed the door.

Panthro sat on the sofa. “So, how have you been doing?”

His ex-love took a seat on the other end of the sofa and ran a hand through her hair. “I’m doing okay.”

Panthro nodded and looked away from her. He folded his hands together. “So, you felt your brother was more important to save than my fiancée, an innocent person in all this mess?”

Vasa suddenly felt sick when he asked that. She had a feeling he was going to talk about it, but she was completely surprised that he came over in eh first place. After their argument in the hospital, she figured that was the end of it.

“He was my brother, deceived and brainwashed by his wife. I love him. I wanted to save him. Is that a crime? I didn’t even know Aline.”

“You knew she was an innocent person in all this.”

“I did, but I felt my brother was more important.”

“Your brother was on the side of evil!”

“It wasn’t all his fault. He was on the wrong side yes, but he could’ve change.”

“You don’t know that!”

“I had to try!” She finally shouted back.

“So, trying includes sleeping with Rataro! That fat rat! You enjoyed that?!”

“No, I didn’t! I hated myself for doing that, but I would do anything to save my brother!”

“How could you not tell me?! How could you be a prostitute?! There had to be some other way!”

“I didn’t tell you because I knew you would leave me! I had no choice but to be his concubine! There was no other way!”

“There’s always another way!” Panthro roared getting out of his seat. “I can’t believe you did that! Aline would never had done that! You’re nothing like her!”

Vasa put a hand over her mouth in shock. She slowly removed it from her mouth. “So, that’s it isn’t it? By Thundera….all this time. All this time you have been comparing me to her.”

Panthro folded his arms and looked away.

“I can’t believe this. All this time, I thought I was your new love, but you have been comparing me to her! You never gotten over her! Even after I found out that you still carried your picture, you still have not forgotten her!”

Panthro turned to her angry. “Of course I haven’t forgotten her. I loved her! I will always love her!”

“I understand that, but she is dead.”

“She’s dead because of you!” Panthro accused.

“I’m part to blame yes, but it’s not entirely my fault. You got vengeance for those who directly murdered her. I was indirectly blamed. You want to kill me. Go ahead.”

“Killing you will do no good. Vengeance begets vengeance. I’ve leaned that from WilyKit. It’s just a vicious, continuous cycle.”

“Yes, it is.”

There was silence between them. Finally, Vasa spoke.

“So is that why you came over? Just to yell at me some more? Get what you said at the hospital off your chest?”

Panthro sighed. “I did love you. In fact, part of me still does love you. You remind me of her sometimes, but I was closing that part of my whenever I was with you. I don’t know how my feelings are for you anymore. I don’t know if I want to get back together with you. Time will tell if we’re meant to be together. Time heals wounds, but until that happens, if that ever happens, I do know we have to get along with each other.”

“And why is that?” She asked placing a hand on her hips.

“Just because I’m a guy, that doesn’t mean I’m stupid. I know you’re pregnant.”

*****

Cheetara entered Liam’s room that morning. She smiled down at her son. Today was his special day, although it was delayed, it didn’t matter and she knew he wouldn’t understand, being as young as he.

Liam was already awake. He looked up at his mother with a smile.

Cheetara picked him up. “You’re all ready for your special day, aren’t you?” She hugged him close to her. “And what a special day it is.”

Lion-O entered the room. “I thought I find you here. Do you know where Panthro went? The Thundertank is gone.”

“No, I don’t. I doubt he’ll be gone long though. He doesn’t want to miss Liam’s homecoming as well as the Thundercats.”

“And the announcement of Tygra’s fate,” Lion-O noted a little grimly.

“You think it’s best to announce it at the party?” Cheetara asked.

“Yes, I think so.”

“Well, I have to get Liam ready for his bath and get him dressed up.” Cheetara said heading for the bathroom.

“Yeah, and I’ll tell Tygra to join us at the celebration.”

Cheetara turned around surprised, “You didn’t tell him?”

“Well, it’s not like I really want him to come. I’ve been procrastinating it.”

“That is understandable. I suggest you go tell him now before he decides to go somewhere else while we have the party.”

Lion-O nodded and left the room. He knocked on the door of Tygra’s lab. WilyKit told him she last saw him go in there. Tygra acknowledge whomever it was to come in. Tygra was sitting on his stool working on some experiments when Lion-O entered. He stood up like he was a soldier meeting his commanding officer.

“I see that you are busy so I’m going to be quick. Are you attending the party this afternoon?”

Tygra shook his head. “No. I think it’s best that I stay away from any situations involving you and Cheetara, so I won’t make you uncomfortable.”

“Well, I came in to say that you should come. Cheetara and I have talked about it and as Lord of the Thundercats it’s my final decision. I have made it and I will announce it at the party.”

“I see,” Tygra said solemnly. “Well, I’ll see you there.”

Lion-O nodded and left the room.

*****

Vasa gasped. “How long have you known? How did you know?”

“I’ve known for about three months now. Besides, I knew Cheetara was pregnant and she’s just my friend. You didn’t think I would realize that my, well ex-girlfriend is pregnant.”

Vasa sat down on the sofa. “Have you told anyone else?”

“No. I noticed you haven’t either. You can’t hide this secret forever.”

“I was planning on telling my niece and nephew. I just didn’t know when and how. I didn’t want them to pressure you to get back together with me because I am carrying your child. If we were to get back together, I want you to get back with me because you wanted to and not because I’m pregnant.”

“I want to be apart of its life.”

“I know you do and you will. I won’t cut you out of its life.”

“So, it’s settled then.” Panthro said kind of grimly. “It’s over between us.”

“So it seems. I understand that you don’t want a romantic relationship with me. It’s good we’re going to remain friends.”

Panthro nodded. “I think so too.” Panthro held out his hand. Vasa took his hand and shook it. They then hugged each other. Panthro pulled apart from her. “So, how about you coming with me to party today. I know the twins would like it if you came. It won’t bother me.”

“Okay. We’re not going to tell them about the pregnancy, are we? I don’t want to steal Prince Liam’s thunder.”

“We’ll tell him when you’re ready to.” Panthro said and helped her up. “Come on. Let’s go. It should be starting now.”

*****

In a large lounge, Liam’s party was taken place. Streamers of red, yellow and a light blue hung over the room. Balloons were also in the room. Liam kept pointing to one, wanting to hold one. Some refreshments were on a buffet table that Snarf made and presents for Liam were stacked together. All the Thundercats were in there except Tygra and Panthro. Pumyra, Lynx-O and Snarfer arrived from 3rd Earth that morning and rested before the party started. Cheetara had Liam dress in coveralls. It was embroidered with Liam’s name on the top right corner and a picture of a lion in the center. The top part of the coverall was yellow and the bottom part of the coverall was red.

Cheetara was holding him as she and Lion-O sat on the sofa. Pumyra walked to them holding a wrapped box.

“I got a little something for Liam.” Pumyra said and hands the box to Lion-O.

“Thank you, Pumyra,” Cheetara smiled. “Look at the box Pumyra gave you. Say, thank you Liam.” Liam just babbled. They laughed. “Here. Why don’t you hold him?” Cheetara said and carefully handed her son to Pumyra.

Pumyra looked down at him. “Look at how handsome you are. He’s gonna be a knock out to the ladies, Cheetara.”

“He gets its from me.” Lion-O said proudly.

Pumyra smiled and then frown when she felt something on Liam. “Uh-oh. Someone needs to have his diaper changed. I can do it if you want.”

“Okay. Thanks, Pumyra. His diapers are in his room.”

“I’ll help you,” Bengali said joining Pumyra.

Pumyra smiled and they left the room together. Lion-O and Cheetara looked at each other knowingly.

“Well, we got him something really useful for both of you guys.” WilyKat said as he and his sister carried a large box wrapped up.

“What is that?”  Lion-O asked.

Cheetara unwrapped the box. “Wow. It’s diapers.”

“A total of 100,” WilyKit said proudly. “Now tell us you won’t need that.”

“Oh, we will. Thanks you two.”

Lion-O picked up the diapers and set them aside. Bengali and Pumyra returned with Liam. Pumyra hand the child back to his mother. Cheetara looked at Lynx-O.

“Would you like to hold him, Lynx-O?”

“I’d love too, Cheetara.”

Cheetara stood up as Lynx-O walked over and gave her son to him. Lynx-O touched the Liam’s face. “I sense great strength in him. He’s going to be a mighty Lord.”

“My turn. My turn.” Snarfer said. Lynx-O handed the cub to Snarfer. “Wow. Hee. Hee. He sure has a lot of hair, but he doesn’t have black spots in your hair like you Cheetara.”

“No, Liam doesn’t. He has my cheetah spots on his upper arms and upper thighs,” Cheetara answered.

Lion-O moved closer to Cheetara and whispered in her ear. “It’s been almost an hour. I told Tygra he could come.”

Cheetara whispered back to him. “I guess he didn’t want to come.”

The doors opened and everyone turned to the door. Panthro and Vasa entered.

“Sorry, we’re late. I got something for Liam.” Panthro said and handed Cheetara the gift.

“You two are together.” WilyKit said.

“Does this mean….” WilyKat asked hopeful.

“No, it does not,” Vasa said. “Panthro and I decided to end our relationship, but we will remain close friends.”

“You’re not?” WilyKit said down.

“There aren’t always happy endings. A wise person told me told me all romances don’t end in happiness.” Panthro said.

“Oh, well. At least you guys will remain friends and who knows something may happen and you two could get back together.” WilyKat said.

“As long as you two are happy. We’re happy.” WilyKit said and gave the two a hug.

Snarfer handed Liam back to Cheetara and she got out of her seat and walked to the two. “Welcome. I’m glad you could make it.”

“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a gift. I—“

“Don’t worry about it. Do you want to hold Liam?”

“I’ll be honored.” Vasa said. Cheetara hands Liam to her.

“This should give you some practice.” Cheetara whispered to her.

Vasa looked surprise at the cheetah and Cheetara winked at her. “Congratulations,” the Lady of the Thundercats whispered.

“How did you know?”

“Maybe it’s that intuition mothers have. They can tell when another woman is pregnant.”

The doors opened again and Tygra entered. There was an immediate silence in the room. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at him. Tygra saw the eyes on him and stepped in anyway.

“What are you doing here, you traitor?” Panthro asked angry.

“It’s all right, Panthro. I invited him to come.” Lion-O said.

Tygra had a box in his hand. He gives it to Lion-O. “For Liam.” He said simply.

“Thank you, Tygra.” Lion-O said and unwraps the gift. “It’s a rocker. Thanks.”

“Not just any rocker. It’s a vibrating rocker that converts from infant use to a toddler use.”

“I’m sure Liam would like that. Thank you, Tygra.” Cheetara said.

Vasa returned Liam to his mother. After that, Lion-O and Cheetara stood up.

“Now that everyone is hear we can go ahead and make some important announcements,” Lion-O said. “First off, the decision with Tygra. Cheetara and I have talked about this, and recently I have made a decision. Tygra, I have decided to reinstate you back in the ThunderCats organization.”

Gasp of shocks and disbelief filled the room.

“Lion-O, you can’t possibly let him in, not after all he’s done to you and Cheetara,” Panthro protested.

“I understand everyone’s shocked. Believe me, this was not my first choice and I have contemplated over this decision time and time again before I knew it was right. He saved my son’s life. There shows some goodness in him for him to be reinstated. However, his crimes will not go unpunished. Tygra,” He looked at the tiger straight in the eyes. “You are no longer second-in-command. I’m handing the position of second-in-command to Cheetara. Does anyone disagree?”

There was silence.

Lion-O looked at Cheetara. “Very well. Cheetara, you are second-in-command.” The Lord of the Thundercats looked at Tygra. “Also Tygra, you are still on careful watch around here. Because of all the things you have done, you have lost our trust in you and you must earn it back and that could take years. However, if I or any of the other ThunderCats detect that you have not change, you will be banished from Thundera and never to return.”

“I understand, Lion-O. I’m just grateful that you have allowed me back. I will do everything in my power to prove to you all that I have changed.” Tygra said gratefully.

“Well, if Lion-O can forgive you, then I can too. Welcome back, Tygra,” WilyKat said shaking Tygra’s hand. The others joined in welcoming the tiger. All except Panthro.

Hesitantly, Panthro shook Tygra’s hand. “You better have changed because after Lion-O deals with you, you will have to deal with me.”

“Lion-O and I have another announcement. This homecoming just isn’t for Liam. It’s for everyone. We have decided that it is time for everyone to return to their home planet, Thundera. Third Earth is in peace and doesn’t require our full attention. Our friends on 3rd Earth have learn about our technology so they can protect it.” Cheetara said.

Lion-O picked up from where Cheetara left off. “We’re not going to completely abandoned 3rd Earth. We’re going to have monthly trips there just to check up, but for the most part everyone will be on New Thundera.”

There were smiles among the ThunderCats. They were happy that they all could stay home.

“That sounds like a wonderful idea, Lion-O, but may I make a request?” Lynx-O asked.

“What is it, Lynx-O?”

“I’d like to stay on 3rd Earth. It’s quiet, very peaceful, and I’d like to spend my final days there.”

Worried glances were on everyone’s faces now. It was Lion-O who spoke.

“Lynx-O, are you dying?” Lion-O asked worried.

“No, it’s just that I’ll feel more happier on 3rd Earth. I have grown to like it very much.”

“Very well, Lynx-O, if that is what you want. You can stay on 3rd Earth.”

“I guess I’ll stay, too.” Snarfer said.

“You don’t want to stay on Thundera, Snarfer?” Snarf asked.

“Nah, Uncle Snarf. Besides, I don’t think the Thundercats can deal with two of us Snarfs here. Yep. You annoy them enough with your nagging,” Snarfer teased his uncle.

“Why you….” Was all Snarf said before he being chasing his nephew. The old Snarf caught up with Snarfer and bopped him on the head.

“Well, does anyone else want to stay on 3rd Earth?” Lion-O asked. There were no complaints. He saw how closely Bengali and Pumyra were standing closely together. They were happy to be reunited permanently.

“I also have one more announcement that even you don’t about, Cheetara.”

Cheetara looked at her husband puzzled. Lion-O looked at everyone else.

“It’s more of a decree than an announcement. I’ve ordered that any children of Cheetara’s and mine and the future descendents of Lord of the Thundercats to come can marry whomever he please. There will be no more arranged marriages.”

Tears of joy filled Cheetara’s eyes. Cheetara hugged him and then kissed him.

“Thank you.”

“There’s no need to thank me. I did what was right. No one will have to go through what we did to be together ever again.” He kissed her again and put one arm around her.

“Thundercats!” Lion-O exclaimed with one hand in the air.

“HO!” Everyone shouted.

The End
