3: The Wrath of a Tyrant
Where we last left off…..
Roarzuma had stormed the castle gates of the
royal Lair of Thundera, killing off each and every ThunderCat, his brother, his
mother and his father, and proclaiming himself king of Thundera, and Lord of
the ThunderCats.
Upon his call to the people of Thundera, the
evil ones who supported him rushed to his gates, begging to serve them. Pleased
at this, he used the Sword of Darkness to look into their hearts, and find
which was the most powerful of them all. He chose the 9 most powerful warriors,
and dubbed them to be ThunderCats under the Sword of Darkness. With his sword,
he bestowed upon them dark armor, and weapons of great destruction. In addition
to his great warriors, he created a dark army, of which they had command over,
and he held command over the ThunderCats.
"And now my minions." said Lord
Roarzuma. "We destroy all who oppose us."
Thus, Lord Roarzuma began his dark campaign
on the planet of Thundera. Before he left, he placed dark, protective magic
over the royal Lair, which would destroy any who tried to enter or attack it.
As much as there were supporters of Roarzuma, there were 10 times as more
opposition, who refused to be ruled by this dark tyrant. The first wave of
opposition was in the royal city, which was just below the royal Lair.
Thousands of citizens lined up with any kind of weapon they had, and stood at
the gates of the city. A tall, cougar Thunderian, who was about 35 years old,
stood at the front line, with a sword pointed in the direction of Lord Roarzuma
and his dark army. At the time, it appeared to be only Lord Roarzuma and his 9
ThunderCats, who rode upon horses.
"We the people of Thundera refuse to be
enslaved by your tyranny!" said the man. "I am Cuthelto, governor of
the royal city, and loyal subject to the fallen King Mannion, the TRUE Lord of
the ThunderCats! We will not bow into submission! We outnumber your
forces!"
Cuthelto’s sentiments were echoed by shouts
from his crowd, refusing to go under Roarzuma’s rule.
Lord Roarzuma, who was at the front of the
line of his ThunderCats, looked at this man, and laughed loudly.
"Fool!" said Roarzuma. "You
actually think your army of simpletons can defeat me and my glorious warriors?!
Then come and meet your dooms!"
At the sound of this, Cuthelto raised his
sword, and yelled for the mob to charge and overwhelm the warriors. Lord
Roarzuma and his ThunderCats charged the mob, and swiftly began killing all who
tried to attack. The dark power Roarzuma had given them was phenomenal, and
they mowed through the revolt like a scythe through a field of grain. As the
revolt started to gain greater ground, Lord Roarzuma lifted the Sword of
Darkness in the sky, and lightning surged all around his body, with a great
bolt emitting into the clouds, turning the entire sky black. Then, other great
bolts of lightning shot down, and struck bunches of villagers, killing them
where they stood. At the sight of this, the fighting stopped briefly.
"Ingrates!" bellowed Lord Roarzuma,
his voice as loud as a thunderclap, echoing throughout the entire vicinity.
"I am you master now! Let all of Thundera know, that I am the one true
power, and will crush all who oppose me!"
A great wind ensued, and a strange dark
portal opened up. From out this portal came dark, evil, black, demon-like
Thunderian warriors, who had armor as fierce as that of Lord Roarzuma and his
ThunderCats, and rode on dark horses. Thousands upon thousands of them came
from out the portal, and stood behind Lord Roarzuma and his ThunderCats.
"You see?!" said Roarzuma. "I
am all-powerful! Those who refuse to surrender will die a most painful
death!"
Roarzuma turned to his ThunderCats and dark
army.
"Kill them!" bellowed Roarzuma.
With that, Roarzuma, the ThunderCats, and the
dark warriors descended upon the army like a plague, killing any attacker who
lay in their path. The villagers of the revolt did fight bravely, and managed
to destroy a few dark warriors of Lord Roarzuma before the battle had subsided.
However, Lord Roarzuma and his dark army were victorious in the end. Those who
hadn’t surrendered were killed, and Lord Roarzuma had personally killed
Cuthelto himself, and stuck his head upon the end of the Sword of Darkness.
"You see what has become of your
‘fearless leader’?!" said Roarzuma to the survivors. "You will suffer
is fate, if you EVER defy me again! I AM THUNDERA!!!!!!!!!"
And so, the villagers, as well as the royal
village, now were under Lord Roarzuma’s rule. He dipped Thundera’s royal flag
in the blood of Cuthelto, and let it fly high in the village for all to see.
"Let the world be told, that I am its
king!" yelled Roarzuma. "I shall conquer ALL that I see! The planet
is mine to rule!"
With that, Lord Roarzuma and his ThunderCats,
along with the dark army, rode along to the next nearest city, which Roarzuma
planned to conquer. It wasn’t long before that city was under his control as
well.
Throughout the entire Thunderian countryside,
Lord Roarzuma traveled with his dark army, as well as his ThunderCats. Roarzuma’s
power was unparalleled and very soon, city after city fell under his control.
When they conquered the cities, Lord Roarzuma pillaged all the jewels and
wealth in the village for himself, and took the most beautiful women for his
wives, creating his own private harem. Of his 9 ThunderCats, there was a tiger
Thunderian by the name of Zenis, and Roarzuma found him to be the most fierce
and powerful of all the ThunderCats, and took a liking to him. He increased
Zenis’s power, and gave him power over all the other ThunderCats, as well as
the dark army, making him second in command.
Within a year, nearly the entire planet of
Thundera had fallen under the dark rule of Lord Roarzuma, and he was able to
smash any opposing forces into a million pieces. When he wasn’t conquering, he
stayed at the royal Lair, and sat upon his throne, which was made from the
skulls of the leaders he had conquered, from various villages.
The Sword of Darkness proved to be a powerful
weapon, and Roarzuma’s life force was bound to it. Whenever he did battle, he
would use the sword as a regular sword at first, but then when things didn’t
turn out the way he wanted, he’d unleash the furious powers contained within
the sword, as well as use the magic that the sword gave him. There was virtually
nothing the sword could create; from fiery creatures that torched villages, to
great storms full of wind and ice, to burning rocks that fell from the sky,
there was no limit to the power Lord Roarzuma gained from the sword. Whenever
he came across magical forces of good, they were defeated almost immediately,
and he absorbed their power for his own. He also absorbed the souls of all he
defeated, with the aid of the Sword of Darkness. He also bound the souls of his
ThunderCats to the Sword of Darkness, so if they were ever killed in battle,
that their souls would be absorbed and taken into Lord Roarzuma, and he would
grow more powerful from them. That way, it wasn’t a total loss should they die
in battle.
Many of his trusted ThunderCats had suggested
he continue the royal line with an heir of his own, but Lord Roarzuma did no
such thing, for the Sword of Darkness filled him with an evil life, and he
intended to live on forever, and had no need for an heir. Despite not having an
heir, he did desire to have one of his wives as his queen, but at the moment,
he could not decide which wife would make the perfect queen for him. A factor
that added to his not reproducing was a dark premonition the Sword of Darkness
had given him, for he often looked into the Eye of Roarzuma for knowledge and
foresight, and one day, he saw a terrible message. It seemed to call to him, in
an eerie voice, which it had previously never had done before. Oddly enough,
the voice sounded exactly like the voice from the Guardian of the Book of
Omens.
"YOU ARE THE MOST POWERFUL BEING
THUNDERA HAS EVER KNOWN." the
Sword of Darkness said. "YOU SHALL FOREVER LIVE, THROUGH THE POWER OF
THE SWORD OF DARKNESS WHICH YOU HAVE CREATED, UNLESS A DARK PROPHECY COMES
TRUE. FOR ONE DAY, YOU SHALL ENCOUNTER A WOMAN WHO OVERWHELMS YOU WITH HER
BEAUTY AND INVINCIBLE PURITY, AND FALL DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH HER. YOU TAKE HER AS
ONE OF YOUR MANY WIVES, AND YOU WILL HAVE HER AS YOUR QUEEN. YOUR VOW OF NEVER
HAVING AN HEIR SHALL BE BROKEN, AND AS A PRODUCT OF YOUR ROMANCE, YOUR QUEEN
SHALL BEAR YOU A SON. WHEN YOUR SON IS FULLY GROWN, HE WILL DESTROY YOU, AND
RESTORE THUNDERA TO ITS
This prophecy filled Lord Roarzuma with
terror, and he vowed never to let this happen. He gathered all his wives, and
had the Sword of Darkness cast a sterility spell on all of them, making it safe
to sleep with them whenever he felt like it.
Lord Roarzuma ravaged Thundera for over 10
years, and was the indisputable ruler of Thundera. However, there was a group
of rebels that always caused him problems and they were difficult to completely
crush, because they traveled as gypsies do, and every time he encountered them
they seemed to increase in number. They were known as The White Thunder, and
were aptly named because all of their armor and clothing they wore was pure
white. Their leader was a strong, agile, lion Thunderian warrior about
Roarzuma’s age, who went by the name of Bavrin. On several occasions, where
Lord Roarzuma merely sent a convoy of dark warriors without any ThunderCats out
to destroy a village, The White Thunder were able to defeat them, and maintain
control of the village. However, once Lord Roarzuma showed up with his
ThunderCats, the village was then taken.
15 years after Lord Roarzuma had taken over
Thundera, The White Thunder became more and more persistent, and even managed
to free a couple villages that Lord Roarzuma had previously conquered for a
short time, until they were seized again. It seemed that for every village that
Lord Roarzuma had conquered, Bavrin and The White Thunder freed a village
previously under Lord Roarzuma’s control. Bavrin was always present at these
battles, and always managed to live to see the next day, and was loved by all
the people who opposed Lord Roarzuma.
While Lord Roarzuma presided over 99% of
Thundera, there was still 1% that he could never conquer, and that was the
villages atop the
"Give up, you foul tyrant!" said
Bavrin. "You’ve lost this battle, and soon you will fall!"
Powers and body exhausted, Lord Roarzuma and
his forces were driven back from the
"Know this!" bellowed Lord
Roarzuma. "I have not lost the mountain, but I have abandoned them! Those
who inhabit the mountains shall be marooned there, and die should they try to
leave! These are the words of Lord Roarzuma!"
In the valley below the
"Know this Bavrin, leader of The White
Thunder!" said Lord Roarzuma. "You have not won, and shall never win!
By all the powers in the universe I possess, I shall have your soul! Your skull
will be my greatest decoration atop my throne! You have sentenced yourself and
your people to death!"
"We will welcome death before we welcome
your leadership Roarzuma!" said Bavrin defiantly.
"So be it." said Roarzuma.
With a snap of his fingers, a giant fireball
fell from the sky, and struck the middle of the opposition group of The White
Thundera, killing hundreds of warriors. After that, Lord Roarzuma and his
minions left, heading back to the royal city.
Not content with having conquered nearly all
of Thundera, Roarzuma found the power within the Sword of Darkness to open
portals to other worlds within his reach. Once he discovered this, he increased
the number of ThunderCats he had to 26, appointing an ocelot Thunderian named
Pijaru as his second in command. He was pleased, for Pijaru proved to be even
more powerful a ThunderCat than Zenis had been. He then instructed Pijaru to
choose 4 of his fiercest ThunderCats to stay behind, while the rest of the
ThunderCats led thousands of Lord Roarzuma’s dark soldiers into the portals, to
conquer the lands contained within the portals. It turned out that these
portals led to the other planets found within the same solar system of
Thundera, as well as all the moons surrounding the planets. Surprisingly, all
of these planets were inhabited by the same Felo Sapiens found on Thundera,
including the planet we now know today as Plun-Daar, as well as all its moons.
While these other worlds were being
conquered, Lord Roarzuma stayed behind with his chosen ThunderCats, determined
to crush The White Thunder once and for all. Each night, Lord Roarzuma
meditated strong upon the Sword of Darkness, feeling the power surge within
him, and then using the power that day in battle to crush the opposing forces.
It was clear that Lord Roarzuma’s powers had
increased in strength, and as a result of this, The White Thunder had become
less powerful, and was narrowed down to only a few hundred members left.
Finally, Lord Roarzuma, his ThunderCats and minions had cornered the remnants
of The White Thunder in a village known as GrayClaw. It turned out, oddly
enough, that this was Bavrin’s home village, which he had managed to free
awhile back, and keep it free until now. Lord Roarzuma and his forces showed no
mercy, and they began killing everything in sight.
"Kill all!" instructed Lord
Roarzuma. "The White Thunder shall be no more after today!"
After several hours, The White Thunder had
become exhausted, and there were only about 70 warriors remaining to fight, including
Bavrin. The warriors that remained kept the women, children, and elderly of the
village, or those who were not warriors, safe. Bavrin fought and killed every
dark warrior that came across his path. As Lord Roarzuma killed a warrior
running at him with a spear, he turned back after hearing a familiar yell.
Roarzuma looked, and Pijaru lay on the ground dead, with Bavrin standing over
him. In a rush of rage, Lord Roarzuma rushed over to face Bavrin.
"You’ve slain 2 of my finest
generals!" said Lord Roarzuma. "Now you shall pay with your own
life!"
"Then I will die honorably." said
Bavrin. "Which is something you will never accomplish."
Lord Roarzuma lunged at Bavrin, and clashed
swords with his. With all the rage and energy within him, Roarzuma used this to
aid him in battle, and fiercely fought Bavrin, clashing at him wildly with his
sword. As he fought, a strange, green glow covered his body, and made him surge
with energy. Bavrin held his ground, and fought back as hard as he could, but
it seemed to be of no use, and his energy and strength slowly left him as the
battle raged on. In a menacing blow, Lord Roarzuma once again clashed his blade
with Bavrin’s, causing Bavrin’s blade to shatter into several pieces, and then
he stabbed Bavrin in the chest, but the wound was not fatal. Once Bavrin was on
the ground, Lord Roarzuma used his magic, and levitated Bavrin in the air, then
smashed him down on the ground several times. Once he’d done that, he made the
levitation suspend Bavrin in mid-air, and then beat him brutally with his fists
and feet, as well as deliver painful claw wounds. When he’d finished, he
released Bavrin from the magic, and Bavrin lay on the ground, beaten, slashed,
bloody, and barely able to move. Lord Roarzuma lifted him up by the hair on the
back of his head, and showed his face to the rest of The White Thunder
warriors.
"Fools!" said Lord Roarzuma.
"Your puny attempts to overthrow my empire have finally failed once and
for all! Look at your leader, once a proud warrior, now reduced to a beaten and
broken whelp! Hahaha!"
Lord Roarzuma threw Bavrin back to the
ground, and turned him over, so Bavrin was facing him. Bavrin looked up, still
able to see.
"And now, O noble Bavrin." Said
Lord Roarzuma. "I shall skin you alive before I kill you. Prepare for
pain!"
Lord Roarzuma brought his sword up to slice
Bavrin’s skin, but stopped when someone flung themselves upon Bavrin.
"No please!" the person said.
"Please! Take me instead!"
The voice was female, and as she turned, and
looked up at Lord Roarzuma, he stopped. The woman was a beautiful female
lioness, and her beauty pierced Lord Roarzuma’s heart like an arrow. Holding
his sword at his side, he looked at this beautiful woman before him.
"Who are you?" asked Lord Roarzuma.
"I am Sialura." said the woman.
"This man is my older brother. Please, spare him, I beg you! I give you my
life instead of his!"
Lord Roarzuma thought this over. He had no
desire whatsoever to kill this woman, for her beauty was so compelling that he
couldn’t bring himself to do such a thing. He wanted very badly to kill Bavrin
for as long as he had known Bavrin, yet Sialura’s beauty seemed to make his
rage subside. He thought over her proposition for a moment, and then answered
her. He thought of a way to satisfy his longing for her, as well as humiliate
her brother.
"If I do spare your brother." said
Lord Roarzuma. "Will you have me as your husband, and love me for all
time? Will you do whatever I command, whenever I command? Will you be……my
queen."
Warriors on both sides looked in amazement at
Lord Roarzuma’s statement, and Bavrin looked up, sputtering and trying to speak
to his sister.
"N-no." Bavrin said, with a cough
and a sputter.
Sialura looked at her brother, and sobbed,
then turned back to Lord Roarzuma.
"Yes!" she sobbed. "I’ll be
your queen, I will love you, I’ll do whatever you say, just let him live,
please!"
"Very well." said Lord Roarzuma.
"Come to my side."
Sialura obeyed, and waked up to Lord
Roarzuma’s side. He put his sword back in its sheath, and placed his arm around
her waist. With a snap of his fingers, Lord Roarzuma’s magic had healed Bavrin,
giving him most of his strength back, but leaving him still weak from the
fight. With another snap of his fingers, Bavrin’s ankles and wrists became
shackled in iron chains, making it impossible for him to move.
"Take him away!" said Lord
Roarzuma. "And burn the village to the ground! Victory is mine!"
"NOOOO!" said Sialura, hitting Lord
Roarzuma on his mighty chest with her fists. "You said you’d let him
live!"
"And live he shall!" said Lord
Roarzuma. "I will let no more harm come to him ever, for he’ll be in the
safety of the royal dungeons, with his own private cell too. As for the rest of
the village and the others, it shall burn to the ground!"
Once the other warriors of The White Thunder
had been killed, Lord Roarzuma’s warriors and ThunderCats burned the village to
the ground, and killed anyone else they could find. The White Thunder had been
eliminated. Once it was all over, Lord Roarzuma rode back to the royal Lair,
with Sialura riding pillion on his horse. Upon their return to the royal Lair,
Lord Roarzuma wed Sialura, making her his queen, and had a special crowning
ceremony for her. The ceremony was followed by a great celebration and banquet
amongst the warriors, both to celebrate the wedding and to celebrate Lord
Roarzuma’s victory over The White Thunder.
On the night of the festival, Lord Roarzuma
had used his sterilization spell upon Queen Sialura, so that she would not bear
any of his children. Queen Sialura allowed him to do this, but was deeply
saddened on the inside, as she had always hoped for a child of her own. Once
Lord Roarzuma had performed the sterilization spell, he then slept with her.
Lord Roarzuma was completely infatuated with
his new queen, and she knew it too. He lost all interest in his other wives,
and promptly divorced them, as he could only have eyes for Sialura. He was not
worried about the premonition the sword had given him, for he was confident his
sterilization spell had worked on her, as it did all his other wives. Queen
Sialura took advantage of his love for her, which got her practically anything
she wanted. However, she could not persuade him to be merciful to anyone who
defied him, no matter how she pleaded.
As for Bavrin, Lord Roarzuma was good on his
promise, and kept Bavrin locked away in the dungeon beneath the palace.
Although he had his own cell, Lord Roarzuma saw to it that he was treated very
cruelly, being beaten by the guards and given only a little bit of food and
water to eat, just enough to keep him alive. Lord Roarzuma even came down on
occasion, to beat Bavrin for the heck of it. 3 years had gone by, and Bavrin
remained in his cell, and under the cruelty of Lord Roarzuma.
What Lord Roarzuma didn’t know, however, was
that there were still some loyal subjects of The White Thunder, who were
scattered among various villages of Thundera, and waiting for the right moment
to spring their attack. Another thing that Lord Roarzuma didn’t know was that
Queen Sialura visited her brother’s cell each day, bringing him extra food and
water, and also news of The White Thunder. The members of The White Thunder
were sending her messages by falcon, which she received outside the royal Lair
in her garden, as not to attract attention. She would re-lay these messages to
Bavrin, and also tell him of the layout of the royal Lair, so that when the
time came, The White Thunder could spring him loose. Lord Roarzuma was too
preoccupied with the conquests of the other planets in the solar system to
notice, and at times, he entered the portal himself to aid in the campaign, as
with the rest of his ThunderCats. So far, only 6 planets and 1 moon had left to
be conquered, and Lord Roarzuma was committed to making sure they fell under
his command. In the place of his fallen general of the ThunderCats, Pijaru,
Lord Roarzuma appointed his brother Ajaru, as general of the ThunderCats. Queen
Sialura advised The White Thunder that they spring their attack once all of the
conquests had taken place.
The greatest secret of all that Queen Sialura
had kept from Lord Roarzuma, is that she was with child. She first noticed the
symptoms of pregnancy, and was amazed, for she was sure that Lord Roarzuma’s
sterility spell had worked on her. She contacted a private doctor, one whom
Lord Roarzuma was not familiar with, and he confirmed her suspicions. She dared
not tell Lord Roarzuma, for she knew that he would surely kill the child within
her. She wasn’t sure what to do at first, but then resolved to keep her child,
in the hopes that it would overthrow its cruel father one day. When Lord
Roarzuma asked what the doctor had told her, she told him it was a rare
illness, and that it was only fatal if she slept with him before the virus
worked itself out of her system, and while the sickness took hold of her a
great tumor rested in her stomach. Due to his overwhelming love for her, his
instincts were clouded, and he assumed she was telling the truth. After her
pregnancy, she noticed that Lord Roarzuma seemed to be aging and looking more
like the age he was than a younger age. Lord Roarzuma noticed it to, and could
not reverse it, no matter how hard he tried.
Time went on, and the conquests of the rest
of the planets continued, as well as some uprisings from a group of rebels who
called themselves The Mystery. Lord Roarzuma was quick to quell the uprisings,
and then when right back to conquering the other planets. Queen Sialura grew
heavy with child, and the baby grew strong and healthy inside of her. The 9th
month of her pregnancy came, and right around that time, Lord Roarzuma had
conquered the final planet in the solar system that stood in his way, and now
had an empire. Upon the return of the rest of Lord Roarzuma’s ThunderCats, he
held a great celebration on Thundera.
"I am the master of our realm!"
Lord Roarzuma called from his great balcony. "Victory is mine at last! Now
shall begin the 1000 year reign of the Empire of Lord Roarzuma!"
The crowd full of his supporters cheered
loudly, and festivities commenced all throughout the planet. While everyone was
celebrating, The Mystery planned to reveal themselves, as they were really The
White Thunder in disguise. With the information they got from Queen Sialura,
they were able to infiltrate the royal Lair, and a few of them disguised
themselves as guards. They went to the dungeon, and sprang Bavrin from his
prison. Once they freed him, they took off their disguises, and stormed the
castle. Alarmed by the commotion, Lord Roarzuma summoned his guards, who came
and stopped the takeover of the royal Lair. However, in the streets, warriors
of The White Thunder started rioting, and attacking guards and warriors loyal
to Lord Roarzuma wherever they could find them. Complete mayhem was in the
streets, and Lord Roarzuma rushed to the dungeons, where he found Bavrin’s cell
empty.
"Guards, ThunderCats, to battle!"
said Lord Roarzuma. "Bring Bavrin to me, alive! I will deal with him
myself!"
The battle raged on in the streets, and Lord
Roarzuma’s forces were able to drive The White Thunder back, as they retreated
towards the lands bordering the valley of the
"We’ve driven them out of the royal
city, your majesty." said Ajaru. "They’re fleeing towards the
"Gather all our warriors then!"
said Lord Roarzuma. "We will crush them once and for all, making sure none
escape! I shall take no chances this time! We will either kill them where they
lie, or drive them into the mountain valley, where the plague will kill them
slowly!"
All of the ThunderCats saddled their horses,
as well as the dark warriors, and they followed the army. Lord Roarzuma
insisted that Queen Sialura ride alongside him, so that she may witness his
victory.
"No one can save your brother this
time!" said Lord Roarzuma. "For he will surely meet his doom!"
"I understand, my king." said Queen
Sialura. "I love you more than I love him."
This was a lie, made only to placate Lord
Roarzuma into a false sense of security, for she knew what lied ahead.
Lord Roarzuma’s dark army tracked down The
White Thunder, and chased them all the way back to the plains that surrounded
the valley of the
When Lord Roarzuma had finished, he had only
4 ThunderCats left, and only a few thousand of his dark warriors. However, The
White Thunder was left with only 20 warriors left, all huddled together, ready
to fight to the death. Out of the group, something flung from the group, and
landed in Lord Roarzuma’s lap. It was the head of Ajaru, his general.
"3 dead generals." said a familiar
voice. "And you only have 3 ThunderCats left, what a coincidence."
Out from the center of the group came the
owner of the voice, who was Bavrin himself. He drew his sword, and was ready
for battle.
"I’m ready for you." said Bavrin.
"But can you be ready for me?"
Lord Roarzuma merely laughed at this, and
with a wave of his hand, levitated the remaining warriors in the air. They
stayed suspended in the air, while Lord Roarzuma stepped down to face Bavrin.
The magic he used to levitated them also placed a spell on their eyes, making
it extremely painful if they looked away from Bavrin or closed their eyes.
"All of you will yet again watch your
leader fall at my hands!" said Lord Roarzuma. "And this time, no one
can save him!"
Lord Roarzuma stepped down, and rushed at
Bavrin in a flurry of shadows, knocking him to the ground. Bavrin got back up,
and readied his sword, clashing it against Lord Roarzuma. They fought for
several minutes, exchanging sword clashes, hits and kicks. Once Lord Roarzuma
saw his opportunity, he brought his blade down, and sliced off one of Bavrin’s
arms. He yelled out in pain and fury, and dropped to his knees. Blood shot out
from the stump that remained at his shoulder.
"That is for my first general!"
said Lord Roarzuma, then cutting off his second arm. "That is for my
second general!"
On his third stroke, Lord Roarzuma sliced
open Bavrin’s stomach, and ripped the intestines out of his body while he was
still alive. Bavrin yelled in pain, and bled uncontrollably, becoming weak from
the pain and blood loss.
"That is for my third general!"
said Lord Roarzuma.
Lord Roarzuma then tore at Bavrin’s skin,
pulling it off Bavrin’s body with his bare hands, except for the skin on his
face. When he was completely skinned, Lord Roarzuma then drove his blade
through Bavrin’s chest, lifting him up as he was impaled on his sword, then
pulled the sword out and let him crumple to the ground. Surprisingly, Bavrin
still remained alive, and kneeled on the ground, breathing heavily and unable
to talk from the pain. Lord Roarzuma laughed, and then walked behind Bavrin,
holding his head in his hands.
"That was for all the times you caused
my empire problems!" said Roarzuma, gripping Bavrin’s head in his hands.
"And this, is for me!"
Lord Roarzuma twisted hard and snapped
Bavrin’s neck like a twig, letting his bloody, lifeless body crumple to the
ground. He then set his hand to the sky, and caused those levitated to explode,
their blood, flesh and bones flying everywhere.
"It is done!" declared Lord Roarzuma.
"I am VICTORIOUS AT LAST!!!!"
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" a voice cried.
Before Lord Roarzuma could act, someone
leaped from behind, and jammed a dagger into him, near the base of his neck.
Lord Roarzuma threw the attacker over his shoulder, and pulled the dagger out
of his neck. Using his magic, he was able to treat the wound until he could get
proper medical attention. He turned to face his attacker, and it turned out to
be Queen Sialura. He looked at her, stunned and hurt.
"You….." said Lord Roarzuma. "I
loved you! I gave you all that you could ever dream of, all you’d ever need,
and this is how you repay me?!"
"I hate you!" said Queen Sialura.
"I’ve always hated you! You’re an evil, twisted, heartless, sick,
soulless, demented, power-hungry slave driver, and I intend to see to it that
you die! I pretended to love you so you would spare my brother, and I visited
him each night, and gave him messages from The White Thunder for him! I’m the
one who gave them the information they needed to breach the Lair! I want you to
die!"
Lord Roarzuma looked away, his heart burning
with hurt and rage, and without warning, he charged and drove his blade into
the queen’s heart. She yelled in pain as the blade drove through her, and
looked at him with pleading eyes as she remained impaled on his blade.
"Traitor!" said Lord Roarzuma.
"Now you will join your brother in the next life!"
Lord Roarzuma withdrew his blade from her,
and she fell to the ground. Miraculously, she was still alive, and held onto
her heart as it seeped blood. She managed to get to her feet, and ran in the
direction of the Mountain of Omens, not fully knowing where she planned to go,
or how long she could last.
Some warriors motioned to go and get her, but
Lord Roarzuma held them back.
"No, let her go." said Lord
Roarzuma. "If she doesn’t bleed to death by the time she reaches the
valley, the plague will kill her. Let her die alone."
That being said, Lord Roarzuma made one last
tracking patrol to make sure members of The White Thunder hadn’t escaped, which
they hadn’t. Once that had been confirmed, Lord Roarzuma and his warriors went
back to the royal Lair. He appointed his new general, which was a ThunderCat
named Sheeru, a cheetah Thunderian. Once that was done, he went to his throne
room, and smashed his queen’s former throne, then placed the skull of Bavrin
atop his own throne. After that, he sat in his throne, alone, and looked out on
the horizon. He began to feel weary, and noticed he was looking his age more
than ever now. He was still a young man, only about 33, but just days ago he
looked as though he were 22.
Sialura walked through the valley surrounding
the Mountain of Omens, and was miraculously unharmed by the plague. She then
proceeded to try and climb the mountain, but stopped, as she started to go into
induced labor. A nomad living on the mountain saw her lying in the snow, and
quickly brought her up the mountain, and into a monastery. The monks set her on
a table, and treated her wound, and tended her as she began to give birth.
Within hours, she gave birth to a healthy son. She was exhausted from her wound
and giving birth, and one of the monks lay the tiny baby in her hands.
"What will you name him?" asked the
monk.
Sialura’s breathing was much more labored
now, and it looked as though it pained her to speak. But with all the strength
she could muster, she said her next words.
"Kataan….." said Sialura.
"Kataan….I will name him Kataan…"
Sialura looked into the eyes of her crying
son, and smiled, as she breathed her last.
"My…savior." said Sialura, as she
breathed her dying breath.
The eldest monk checked her pulse, and then
nodded to the others that she had passed away. A younger monk took the baby
from her, while another covered her body with a blanket.
"Amazing she made it this far."
said one monk. "The plague will kill anyone instantly who enters it."
"Amazing, yet sad nonetheless."
said the eldest monk. "We must raise the child, for it is only
right."
As the monk said this, a mysterious figure
entered the room, shrouded in a brown hood where no one could see his face.
"Is what they are saying true?"
asked the figure. "That the dying woman made it through the plague and
halfway up the mountain with a mortal wound, and having suffered no further
harm?"
"Yes." said the eldest monk.
"We will care for the child, and raise him here, safe and away from the
evils of the outside world."
"Indeed you must." said the cloaked
figure. "He must live to face his destiny, for the Prophecy of the Sword
is coming true."
