A couple quick notes about pairings:
#1- Most of the time I will mark a story as slash or
femmeslash if applicable, but not always. It should be obvious from the
pairing whether the fic is slash or not.
I denote all romantic and/or sexual pairings as "A/B", whereas other
relationships such as friendship or family I will mark as "A&B" or "A and B".
#2- In regards to the "A/B and B/A are not the same pairing!"
debate:
In my view, they are. The same two individuals are involved, so I don't see how
saying that Bushroot/Liquidator, for example, is any different than Liquidator/Bushroot.
My habit is to list a pairing in either alphabetical order or whatever "sounds
right" for the story's point of view, rather than get into the
whole argument about "so-and-so is dominant over so-and-so"
or "X would never let Y be on top
so you have to list it as X/Y!"
Individuals (and fictional characters) are more than their sexual positions or
relationship roles.
If you disagree, feel free to list your pairing your
way on your fic. If I like the characters, I'll read it however it's
listed.
#3- What I label as "Gen-fic" may still have some romance and hints of pairings in it, but that isn't the focus or main plot of the story.
